Many of us living in busy urban environments can forget the importance of slowing down. Slow & Flow is designed to help you relax and reconnect with an uplifting blend of fast and slow, and sweat and chill, alongside a delicious mindful sipping of hot chocolate.
This special session is brought to you by meditation teacher and chocolate crafter, Meredith of Food At Heart, and food-lovingyoga teacher, Svetla aka Ashtangi Who. It is being held in a beautiful light-filled studio in Clerkenwell and is the perfect Saturday afternoon escape.
To kick things off, Svetla will lead you through a traditional Ashtanga yoga practice.
This ancient method connects movement and breath. It is designed to help you find peace in your mind by flowing through the sequence of demanding postures. But don’t worry about your strength or flexibility; Svetla will be there for you to give you personalised verbal and physical guidance whatever level you are at. She will help you get into challenging postures in a safe way.
Warning: people at Svetla’s classes are often surprised at what their body is capable of!
The yoga will be followed by a grounding meditation session, again focussed on connecting with your breath and your body. Meredith will guide you through some gentle breathing techniques, then a mindful sipping of calming and uplifting dark chocolate, using her special dairy free Slow Chocolate blend. This meditation will engage all your senses and help you explore the beauty of pausing.
There will be a short break between the yoga and meditation, and we will provide herbal teas and fruit to revive and refresh.
Everyone attending will receive a special Slow Goodie Bag to take away at the end of the afternoon, so that you can take some of the techniques from the session back out into your everyday life.
There are a maximum of 15 spaces available as we want to ensure we can provide you with sufficient individual support.
Health Note: Please note that meditation may not be suitable for you if you suffer from certain mental health/health conditions. If you have been diagnosed with epilepsy, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder or a dissociative personality disorder, please ensure you check with your supporting clinical team before taking part in meditation.
We will provide a form ahead of the session for you to complete just to make sure we are aware of any personal requirements you have so that we can make the session as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
