What you will do

Join Meredith for this gentle meditation session aimed at helping you cultivate a little calm in your day.

Meditation is a beautiful way to connect with the present moment and switch on your 'relaxation response'.

You'll explore some different meditations techniques with focus on using your breath and your body as tools for tapping into deeper levels of calm and mindfulness.

The session includes 2 to 3 different guided meditations to give you the opportunity to experience a range of techniques. Meredith will provide some background on these techniques, and there will also be time to share thoughts on your experience or ask questions (if you'd like to!).

This class is suitable for beginner or experienced meditators.

Please note if you are suffering from certain diagnosed mental health conditions (including clinical depression, schizophrenia and bipolar disorder) you should always seek support your supporting clinician before taking part in meditation. It may still be completely safe and beneficial for you, but it's really important you pay attention to your response and stop if a meditation feels unsafe.

About your host, Food At Heart

Meredith Whitely of Food At Heart is mindful eating guide, meditation teacher and passionate lover of all things cacao. She helps people bring calm to their bellies through eating (and living) in a more connected, mindful and delicious way.

Food At Heart workshops involve all the senses and explore how you can use this sensory understanding in tasting and living. The sessions bring together a healthy mixture of fun and focus.

Food At Heart events also place much emphasis on the sustainable elements of food, using seasonal and organic ingredients wherever possible, with remarkable outcomes!

Notes

You’ll be most comfortable if you wear loose clothing, but wear whatever feels best for you. You can do the meditations seated (either on a chair or cushion) or lying down on a yoga mat. It's best to find somewhere relatively quiet where you won't be disturbed for the meditation hour.
