In this class
Our Printmaking course encourages self - development through print and is perfect for someone wanting to delve deeper into the world of printmaking. You will explore two of the techniques used by Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol, Rembrandt and Henri Matisse. Your first two classes will focus on relief printing, designing your relief piece, cut a block from lino and then print from the raised surface you have left behind.
The final two lessons will see you learn the beautiful and intricate technique of drypoint, intaglio printing, for this you will be scratching an image into a thin plastic or metal sheet using metal tools. The lines that are made are then filled with ink, sent through our press and transferred onto paper.
The course has been designed to support all levels of experience, whether you are a beginner or already have some experience within printmaking, this course can teach you the foundations of printmaking whilst allowing you to learn more advanced techniques within lino and drypoint.
This class is kept small with a maximum of 6 pupils.
