Things to remember

Practical clothing should be worn, for example, no long loose sleeves, no dangling jewellery & no open toed shoes or high heels. Long hair must be tied back to avoid catching in machinery or gas flames.

Workshop Personal Protection Equipment, apart from footwear and an apron, is provided.

I spent the morning with Sara ( and her lovely dog Misty) learning how to make a pair of drop earrings. I went along with no skills whatsoever but was encouraged and supported as I designed and created a beautiful pair of earrings. Sara is an incredibly patient teacher and such fun to be around - I will definitely be booking another workshop!

Perfect workshop to learn about silversmithing. Sara’s knowledge and expertise is vast and useful- and she’ll explain anything you’d like to know about to the fullest extent to help you understand. As for the process of silversmithing, I made a silver spinner ring at her suggestion, which I love and use all the time now. She guided me through every step by showing me first, and then adjusting my technique to help me get a much better feel for it, including but not limited to cutting, stamping, hammering, soldering, filing, and polishing of the ring. She also showed me how to saw, as I was curious. In a nutshell, this workshop is exemplary and working with Sara was an inviting, conversational, educational, and overall wonderful experience! I look forward to taking it again, should I have the opportunity before I leave the UK. Thank you, Sara xx
