If you are using commercial patterns such as paper patterns and PDF patterns, you will have noticed that all patterns are usually drafted to a B or C cup.
If you are smaller or larger than this drafted cup size, you will need to do a 'full bust adjustment' on the pattern before you cut your pattern out in fabric.
This can be a very daunting task, especially for beginners.
During this workshop, your host will teach you two different techniques that will cover a princess line bodice style and also a full bodice with bust darts.
Workshop Breakdown:
Size charts - choosing the correct size to use as a base
Taking body measurements
Understanding cup size and how this will alter your sizing and pattern
Differentiating the front body pattern and back body pattern
Creating a 'FBA' on a full bodice with darts
Creating a 'FBA' on a princess seam bodice
You will work on blocks / slopers that are your base size, manipulating them into your personal cup size. You will then be able to transfer this knowledge onto all you patterns at home.
If you would like to bring any patterns you would like to bring, for advice on, we will have a 15 minute Q&A session at the end of the workshop.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?
Bring along any patterns that you would like advice on. Otherwise everything is provided on the day.
WORKSHOP DURATION:
This is a 2 hour workshop.
AGE RESTRICTIONS:
This workshop is suitable for 16 years and above. All students under the age of 17, must be accompanied by a participating adult
