Sonya Cardwell - 24 October 2024
I attended sewsical as paying customer and was threatened to be hit by some of their community non paying people because i accidentially slightly touched her bun which was sticking and blocking a small space to my seat. The tutor heard it and denied it and it was put down to my 'perception'. It is sold as community event but i have been there a few years and never seen any paying customer return there except me as a mug. It is not a community event it is a place where some people go for free and others pay. There is no chatter. There are too many crammed into the space. there are some brilliant free to all places to go to with actual community feel. Have no problem paying but not for that. Avoid.

I'm so pleased I found this little gem. Lots of help is offered and I've met some lovely people. I've only been a couple of times but have learnt so much and managed to alter a dress, make a drawstring bag and finally got to use an electric sewing machine. Watch out 'Sewing Bee' programme , you might have a new contestant next season!
Silvia - 26 June 2024
I rediscovered my love for sewing at Make Me Studio!
maxine - 21 June 2024
This newbie found this group, randomly popped up on my Facebook feed and was curious. As I am local thought why not pop along to see they use the library. I am so glad I did. Each person has their own machine, layout considering it's in the library was surprisingly really good. Tutor was on hand to offer support, advice with a volunteer on hand to help. As the advert says you work at your pace. First impression very encouraging, so much so booked to attend the following week session before I left with my task of "SEW IT" just about to start, only one issue i'm double booked :(. This newbie is encouraged that I will achieve my goal. Thank you everyone for making me feel so welcomed. Back to the homework. Only given 3 stars as I wasn't their long but I have a feeling this be upgraded next week if I can make it.
Penelope - 20 June 2024
Well equiped studio with plenty of natural light. Knowlegeable staff ready to give you a hand. Handy for the bus and train. Friendly sewers. You can purchase materials too! What's not to love! For me it's a chance to dedicate some time to sewing and have a chat with other creative souls.
Anella - 19 June 2024

Hazel - 5 June 2024
I recently learnt to use a sewing machine, but am not yet confident enough to go it alone. The Sewcial is absolutely brilliant. They have everything you need (machines, tools, fabrics, threads, etc) and there are a couple of staff members to chat with, discuss ideas and, crucially for me, help with problems with using the machine or working out how to do something. I WILL master zips!!! 😂 Couldn’t recommend Make Me Studio more highly. I’m hooked!
Emily Bishop - 27 May 2024
It was my first session and it was a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere with everyone working at their own pace and you were able to ask for help or advice if needed. Once I remembered how to use a sewing machine, the two hours flew by!

Spent a great 2 hours with other sewists at the Sewcial. Was helped by the lovely tutor & assistant to pin 2 shirts, and they gave advice and demo to make the alterations for a better fit. I love being able to go along to these classes, especially as its on my doorstep and I can walk within 10 minutes. It helps with my well-being and the feeling of isolation. I love sewing although I am far from being an expert but I am learning with the patience and expertise of Jamiee and Annie. Its also lovely to meet new people who attend the class. Thank you. Janet

Janice - 19 November 2022
I really enjoy the atmosphere, and the support!
Karina Samuel-Burm - 11 November 2022
The person leading the sewcial is helpful and encouraging. A variety of machines is available including an overlocker, iron and large iron board, lots of coloured thread and sewing accessories. People are friendly and make an effort to make it social by having small conversations while working on their individual projects. I look forward to going again. My only recommendation would be that the tables and some equipment could do with cleaning before the sessions start.
Janice - 4 November 2022
The fact that I keep going back is proof of how much I enjoy attending. Its been a positive experience meeting people who love to sew, getting great support and advice and just having the chance to talk and share.

Tati Howell - 11 October 2022
I was a bit too daunted to start a sewing project – making a tunic for my partner – and the Sewcial was just what I needed to get it going. I booked a second one as I needed some encouragement with my new overlocker, and now the tunic is finished and has been proudly worn!
Janet Jackson - 8 October 2022
I throughly enjoyed my first Tuesday morning session. Thank you Annie for your guidance and knowledge with my fiddly projects that have been sitting at home waiting to be sorted. Although I'm an ametuer I have forgotten how much I love the sound of the sewing machine. I'm looking forward to my next session. Thank you.
Anthony Mee - 5 October 2022
Very good really enjoyed

My experience with Make Me Studios was amazing! Annie (the instructor) was so kind and knowledgeable. She helped me with my project and gave great suggestions! I was a bit nervous as it was my first time coming and I am not too confident in my sewing, however everyone was extremely welcoming. I will definitely be back!!

Louisa Barry - 15 July 2022
Loved sewing with other people! Its much more fun! And for a beginner like me its great to have Jaimie at hand for problem-solving and advice!
Alice Grahame - 17 June 2022
I completed a tricky alteration that I had been putting off for years. The sewing teacher Josh, was extremely patient showing me how to do darts, and advising on how to get a good fit. Also the equipment was so much better than what I have at home. I was delighted to leave the session with a wearable dress. I would definitely recommend Make Mee Studio for anyone wanting to have a go at dress making.

Anna Serocold - 4 February 2022
Lovely atmosphere and helpful tips ☺️
Clare Lorraine Phipps - 16 December 2021
These sessions are incredible value for money. £10 for access to the Make Mee studio equipment is already great, but the real bonus is the Make Mee teachers on hand if you have any questions and offer tips and tricks. Jaime is so helpful and really makes sewing fun (great for those who had the fun drummed out at school!) - I wouldn't be able to machine sew at all without her! Also a nice airy well ventilated space perfect for covid times, and the team wear masks so everyone feels safe to sew. It's also so nice to see other visitors' projects progress every week and learn from what other people are doing. Highly recommend, it's a miracle they aren't sold out every week!
Diane O’Shea - 4 November 2021
I enjoyed the session. I felt motivated working along side the other sewers.
Anonymous - 11 October 2021
Very friendly atmosphere. Instructors always willing to help if you are stuck on the project you are working on. Good place to meet new people too.
Sara - 12 August 2021
I had a great time and learnt a lot on the course learning to sew basic casuals. There was a really friendly atmosphere and the tutors were full of knowledge, tips and tricks of the trade. The class size meant that everybody got the help when they needed it. The studio is well stocked with everything you could possibly needed to create amazing clothes. So happy I did the course and will definitely be signing up for more.
Claire Harding - 12 August 2021
Friendly and relaxed group sewing in a well-equipped studio. I'll be back!
Anonymous - 23 June 2021

Anonymous - 12 June 2021
Always enjoy these classes.
Erum Quddus - 2 June 2021
Loved the Sewcial! So good to be among like minded people and exchanging ideas. It was also good to be amongst people. Having support from Jaime on my sewing projects as and when I needed it means that I can actually make progress and finish things! Looking forward to the next class! :)
Rosie Hattersley - 1 June 2021
Super session with lots of useful advice on the project I brought along, and stop me from messing up something I thought I'd mastered but wasn't quite confident about. You can either bring along everything you need and make use of the fact there's plenty of space to work, or borrow equipment from the Make Mee studio. Although this isn't a taught class, it's fine to ask questions and check with them about stuff. The really friendly sewing instructors also always have clever fixes and ways to save on fabrics or to make better use of those I've brought along.
Ann Thompson - 27 May 2021
Good fun at the Sewcial session, very helpful being able to use the sewing machines and meet other people working on their own different projects.
