What happens in this class?

An overlocker is a type of sewing machine that uses multiple threads to seam fabric while also overcasting to cover raw edges. It is a beautiful (and very useful) piece of equipment, but they are a bit more complicated to use than regular sewing machines.

The small workshop size ensures valuable one-to-one teacher and participant time, allowing maximum engagement and assistance.

If you are thinking about getting an overlocker or you already have one but you don't feel confident enough to use it, then our Overlocker Workshop is exactly what you need!

This 3 hours workshop is…

I was really glad I attended this intro to overlockers. I would recommend it to anyone before they purchase their own, to understand how they work, and what to look out for threading the overlocker seems a lot less daunting.
Geraldine Fraser - 9 February 2023
Great workshop. I learned how to use my overlocker and used it on several fabric types and thicknesses. I feel confident using the machine now .

Brilliant course and I learnt loads about how to thread and use an overlocker. I feel now that if and when I buy one I am more knowledgeable about what I need. Thank you

Was really unsure about how to work an overlocker and what it could do. It was totally demystified in this class. Excellent.

Rita's class was a joy. Lovely, knowledgeable lady. I now have the confidence to start a project with my own interlocker. Thank you.

This session was a good introduction to using an overlocker. I would recommend it to give confidence in understanding the basics. Lots of good information and tips. The teacher was lovely and very patient and helpful.

I bought an overlocker more than two years ago, it sat glaring at me and I was too overwhelmed by the number of spools to open the box and play. I'm now confidently threading the machine and starting to experiment with simple projects. We'll worth the money

I wish there were more stars. What a great class. Rita explained everything clearly and patiently. I was using my own machine. Rita had taken time before the class to research information about the model. She had prepared fabrics on which we could practise. She took us through using the machine step by step. The last hour of the class involved making a little vest top, from pinning and cutting out the pattern to completion. If you want to learn about overlockers, this is the class for you. You won't get a better teacher and you won't regret signing up.
