You would be surprised how easy it can be to create a beautiful flower bouquet!

The class will begin with an introduction of all the flowers, foliage and the floristry materials you will work with.

Next I will be showing you step by step techniques of making a bouquet and will assist you through the whole process of creating your own floral design. You will be able to practise and find a way to your own style .

You will be taking your new beautiful bouquet home with you, safely wrapped for easy transportation.

All the fun will be topped up with some bubbly and nibbles to make this event even more special.

This class is available for private booking, group booking and private venue.

Mandala is a Sanskrit word meaning the circle and reflects the universe and everything in it.

Our Mandala Drawing and Painting Classes have been immensely popular so we are very excited to launch our brand new, unique Mandotla paint dot class.

Mandalas are beautiful symmetrical creations that can be as intricate as you wish.   We use some of the skills from our Mandala courses but also blend them with paint dotting techniques to create fabulous 3D objects on natural products including stone, canvas or wood, the choice is yours!

This class teaches you our unique Mandotla style paint dot skills
We will teach you how to create symmetrical structures and then paint dot skills
We use bespoke equipment to learn paint dotting and you may choose to paint on stone or canvas
You will have free reign of the tools to create something beautiful, and exactly what your mind feels like creating
People tend to find their creativity is really amplified in this class, and you find the design comes naturally to you as you work
The class size is small (max 7), so there will be plenty of time for one to one tuition at your level of ability and confidence
These classes are intended to be relaxing, mindful and a charming creative escape from modern day life.  You will feel a great sense of wellbeing from escaping the smartphone for a couple of hours and focusing your innate creativity

 Many of Ubie's students say they could never paint something as apparently difficult as that.  Well, you can !! You just need to know the tips and tricks of how and therefore the course is suitable for all levels of ability!

Ubie has taught well over 200 students on our Mandala classes and everyone has produced a super piece of work to display and a sense of accomplishment of I drew that.... & of course  once you have learned the techniques and got the bug you can produce many more lovely creations in your own time.  : )

Mandotla! Dotting Class

This workshop was created in response to a visit to Frida Kahlo’s house in Mexico, where Gabriela first saw the stunning display of her wardrobe and personal possessions that was brought over to the V&A Museum for the exhibition ‘Making Her Self Up’ in 2018.

You will spend a fun day in Gabriela's studio learning to use painting and decoupage techniques to create your very own art doll inspired by the Mexican painter. You don't need to be able to paint, draw or design as you will be guided through the whole process right from the beginning.

A primed MDF blank doll with Frida's face is supplied so that you can unleash your inner couturier and design a unique dress for her!  You will find plenty of inspiration in the studio as Gabriela has an extensive collection of photographs of Frida Kalho's clothing and accessories taken during her visit to the artist's  house in 2018. A generous selection of beautiful vintage and contemporary papers as well as vibrantly coloured acrylic paints provide further inspiration and are available for your use.

Please note that this is a small group experience to allow for plenty of individual attention to each and every one of the participants. Hot drinks and snacks included.  For lunch, you can either bring your own food or eat out at one of several local cafes (nearest one is round the corner from the studio).

Doodle Art Workshop is designed for everyone who wants to learn and give this amazing form of art a chance.

Learn to translate complex shapes into simple line drawings using logic and creativity. Ignite the dormant aspects of your brain to boost memory & creativity, improve focus & interpersonal communication and to release anxiety.

This workshop will help you to communicate your emotions or thoughts in a visual language and release stress. It’s simple to do, because it is representational, based on an icon or a basic shape.

In the workshop you will be guided step by step to structure your ideas in a beautiful artwork.

You will be guided how to combine different shapes and lines to create patterns, graphics and clean clear designs.

I provide these workshops regularly,  personalising the programme to each individual student. By personalising the programme individually, you are able to learn and develop at your own pace. My aim is for you to explore and experiment with shapes and lines to express your thoughts on to a beautiful artwork and to have fun in the process!

You can choose to work on the already outlined graphics or sketch or create one of your own. You don’t have to worry about whether you can draw or not, you will be guided step by step into the process.

Build memory power: Doodling helps the brain to stay alert for a long period and, as a result, process more information. When listening to a long lecture, the brain tends to ‘switch off’. Doodling prevents that by engaging the brain without the individual losing interest in what’s being said. It also helps the brain fill in gaps in thinking and processing the information it is receiving.
Enhance creativity: According to Sunni Brown, the author of ‘The Doodle Revolution: The Power To Think Differently’, doodling helps activate different areas of the brain which usually remain dormant while an individual is processing word-heavy information. Relieve stress: Psychologist Christine Selby, in her book ‘Chilling Out: The Psychology of Relaxation’, says that drawing a continuous line that curves and crosses itself many times across a page helps people relax and unwind. Since there is no pressure of ‘painting a good picture’, doodling helps you feel more zen because of its simplicity.
