What happens in this class?

This half-day workshop is a perfect introduction for children and adults to learn how to use whittling knives safely and effectively. It is ideal for families who want to practise woodcraft at home, on camping trips or out in the woods!

Together as a pair, each parent/adult and child will use traditional green woodworking tools to whittle and decorate your very own marshmallow-toasting forks, woodland spreaders or seasonal figurines…

Things to remember

All tools and materials will be provided, as well as drinks and refreshments. Each ticket is for one adult and one child.

Suitable for children aged 10+.

(Children under 10 who have previous woodworking experience will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us directly).

Really lovely morning spent whittling a marshmallow fork & 'nutella spreader' with my kid. Lovely friendly environment and calm, patient teaching.

I came for a days bowl carving course as a beginner. I absolutely loved the day. Hugh and Ben were both so welcoming, and the teaching was brilliantly done. I came away feeling like I had really benefitted in everyway from such a lovely relaxing day creating something, and the bowl looked pretty good too! Really highly recommend visiting Bristol Tree Craft for any course.
