What you will do
3 hour class
We all have a favourite item of clothing don't we? Whether it's something we get complimented on every time we wear it, or it's the best fitting comfiest thing you can find... and aren't you just terrified of it wearing out one day? Or wish you had it in more colours?
Make Mee Studio were inspired by the lovely student in the photos you can see in the gallery, to develop this class who they helped to copy this slinky number. They have nicknamed it 'The Sexy Dress', and the student has already made it in 2 colours! (Original dress on the left.)
You can bring along your favourite items and your teacher will show you how to copy it and develop a plan for sewing it together. You will be shown a range of different techniques and help you pick the best for your item.
Every students items will be different levels of complexity so we recommend bringing a few items you want to copy so we can work through showing different techniques. You may only get 1 done in the time or you might be able to copy all of them, it depends on what you bring.
There will be no sewing during this case.
We ensure quality. If your class doesn't reach your expectations, we'll give your money back.
This is a Flexitime class, which means the teacher can run this class around your schedule.

About your host, Make Mee Studio
Make Mee Studio is run by Tracey & Jaime. Two enthusiastic lifelong sewers (both sewing since they were 5 years old!) They love sharing their making skills with others, and have over 10 years of combined teaching experience working with adults and children. They offer sewing lessons, parties, alterations, makes and commissions in their Brockley, South East London based garden studio and are also available for external school and community projects.
Tracey is a very experienced seamstress who has been working in the business for over 18 years, she started as a costume assistant working for Grenada and the BBC going on to run her own bespoke label and then she began teaching 6 years ago and fell in love. She one of the most precise sewers you'll ever meet and always has a handy hint or trick up her sleeve. She loves keeping the studio neat, tidy and organised, everything has a place!
Jaime primarily studied Textile Design gaining a Masters from Chelsea College of Art. Her passion lies in sustainable fashion and textiles, she began teaching as an antidote to the endless cycle of fast fashion. Teaching people how to make and sew and fix and mend themselves can have a huge impact on how they consume and how they feel about their clothing. She is a self-taught dressmaker and loves encouraging people to make things unique, she's a magpie for anything, velvet, fluffy or sparkly and is terrible at keeping to Tracey's organised system!
If you have any questions, please contact Tracey & Jaime using the ‘contact host’ button on the website page.
