Discover the joy of ceramics with our Hand-Building and Under-Glazing workshop at Stuff And Fings Ceramics. Express your unique style and persona by playing with colour, shape, and texture to create both decorative or functional pieces.

Throughout the workshop, you'll learn basic hand-building techniques, to make and decorate your own pieces, and gain the confidence to bring your ideas to life. With individual attention given, our relaxed beginner-friendly workshop is the perfect place to find your happy place and take the leap of inspiration to make your own personalised ceramic masterpieces.

The Session

In the first part of the session, we'll dive into the basics of creating a simple hand-built form with a short demo and chat, and you'll have the opportunity to take inspiration from ideas you've collected.

Then, in the second part, you’ll have the chance to unleash your creativity and bring your unique piece to life by decorating with underglazes.

Optional light homework will be provided prior to the first session, so you can fully immerse yourself in this hands-on experience. All details will be provided in the confirmation email.

These are 2.5hr sessions. Personal and individual guidance is given throughout.

All clay, tools, underglazes are provided and included in the fee. You are welcome to make as many pieces, as the time provides. Please note 1 piece you'd like to keep is included in the fee. Any additional pieces you'd like to keep incur a £3 (per piece) charge, payable on the day, please remember to bring cash.

If you have tried pottery and want to come back and learn more than this private class is perfect for you. It is aimed at anyone that wants to learn more and want to get more practice on the pottery wheel or Hand-building techniques.

The session is very flexible in terms of what you want to focus on and customised according to your level and needs. Minimum booking is for 2 hour session.

Private Pottery Class

Start or close the week in the best possible way with creativity and reflection. Join artist Lottie Cole for a friendly weekly art session. Throughout the morning we'll draw and sketch together around a group theme and review our work at the end of the session. Or you are welcome to bring your own personal project to work on in a supportive atmosphere if you would rather.  Coffee, Tea and Cake will be provided. This course runs weekly with some exceptions - so please check the dates.  There are discounts for bulk purchases.

Weekly Art Group/Studio Time

We provide weekly art classes to adults, personalising the programme to each individual student.

You have the option to book one or multiple sessions and attend on a weekly or ad-hoc basis; whatever works best for you. In your first session, we will explore some drawing techniques followed by starting an acrylic painting on canvas.

By personalising the programme individually, you are able to learn and develop at your own rate. Our aim is for you to explore and experiment with a range of mediums such as watercolour, acrylics, pastels, inks, oils, etc; to develop your drawing skills in many different ways; to try out 3D activities and to have fun in the process!

Although there is flexibility in the course, there is also structure for the less experienced artist who is looking to learn a new skill. The classes are lead by talented artists who are able to teach and assist you with new techniques or provide you with ideas if you are more experienced.

We discuss inspirational artists from the Impressionists to David Hockney to Ann Blockley, who is a vibrant watercolour artist, and we experiment using their techniques.
Teaching and supporting you is the main priority! There will never be more than 10 students to 1 teacher.

For the evening classes, if you’d like to bring a bottle of wine or a drink to share with friends, please feel free to do so.
We hope to see you soon!

lease note: Our sessions run in line with school terms. Upon booking, we will contact you to choose your main class + start date (Mondays 1:00pm-2:30pm, Tuesdays 7:00pm-8:30pm or Thursday 10.30am-12pm). You must use your block booking within the next 12 weeks that our classes are running. (September-December, January-April, May-July)
