3 hour workshop
This is a relaxed crash course pottery session where you will gain practical skills and introduction to pottery! No experience is necessary. Perfect for beginners or anyone wanting to try something new and fun!
You are welcome to play and experiment as much as you like in this three-hour session and indulge in some clay fun! You will create something unique and handmade that is truly personal and something to add to your memories.
During the workshops you will be introduced to a variety of hand-building techniques - pinching, coiling, slabbing - and wheel throwing skills. You will learn different hand-building techniques and throwing skills on the pottery wheel.
This is an example of what you should expect during the workshop
• Introduction to Pottery • Demonstration of the different techniques • Have fun with Clay! • Option to play with coloured slip to decorate your pots ( only if you are going to glaze fire them ) • Make some enjoyable memories • Grab few snacks in between (wide range of yummy chocolates)

- If you enjoyed and loved your creation and want to keep it forever then there is also the option to have the pottery glazed fired for £3 per piece.
The studio is based along the river side overlooking the view of the grand union canal that leads up to Paddington. If you are new to London or a Londoner wanting to explore different side to London then this is the perfect place to visit! Discover something new and learn fun new skill!

About your host, The Slightly Curious Studio
The Slightly Curious Studio is a creative studio based in London founded by Sampada Gurung. The studio is based in North London , Alperton.
Sampada is a multi disciplinary artist, specialising in illustration, ceramics and crafts . She has been teaching in various studios across uk for years and loves teaching and giving others a platform to encounter materials and learn skills to express their imagination and curiosity.
Sampada host's weekly evening Life Drawing Drop in class and weekend pottery classes, open to all level and skills. The pottery workshops focuses on hand-building techniques - pinching, coiling, slabbing - and wheel throwing. All classes and workshops are designed to encourage confidence, inspire and take risks without criticism while being stretched in unexpected and challenging ways.
The studio is located in Alperton, the London Borough of Culture (LBOC) 2020. The studio is easy to get to via train, bus and overlooks the beautiful view of the grand union canal.
Once you arrive at Venice House Building, please look for the side entrance that says "Artist Studio Company " and ring the bell that says " the Slightly Curious studio " or call 07506856680 once you are near the studio. By Train : Alperton Station (Piccadilly Line) or Hanger lane Station ( Central line ) By Bus : 83, 297 , 79, 483 , 224 Car Parking : There is visitor parking pay and display on site or free parking nearby the studio around Carlyon Road .
All students under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
