We start the day with a bit of pie tasting, looking at shortcrust, sweet shortcrust, rough puff, suet and hot water crust pastry and thinking about pie fillings. You will then select your filling ingredients and be guided to make your own filling. Working with our staff you will design your own pie and prepare the pastry and the filling. For lunch we will use the 'pie blocker' to make a cheese (and onion), meat and potato or pork pie, which will be baked for lunch. Both of my grandchildren love their day at Saddleworth Cookery School! My Grandson has been going for several years now and has learned a lot. He has just done ‘Design you own pie’ and they were amazing. My Grandaughter has also started going and she did ‘Delicious desserts’ which were very good too.
