So Why Should I Make Raw, Plant Based Cakes?

As the world becomes more health-conscious, many of us are steering away from gluten and wheat products. Raw cakes are becoming more and more popular as the “alternate” birthday or wedding cake.

Are Raw Plant Based Vegan Cakes Hard To Make and Do They Taste As Good As "Normal Cakes"?

It always shocks me that most people think raw cakes are really hard to make.

I get it, we’ve all been to that cafe and ordered that raw cake that was too sweet, too heavy, too gooey (or dry) where the flavors are just over the top.

Flavor balancing is a crucial part of being a chef of any kind. By the end of this class, you will be able to make your desserts stand out from others. We’ll explore this in class so you know how what to add for that flavor pop and a well-rounded dessert.

The reality is raw cakes are easy to make because they are more forgiving than cooked cakes. Raw cake making is not as much as a science as cooked cakes if it’s too soft, you add more dry stuff, if it’s too hard you add more wet stuff, if it doesn’t set solid enough you can adjust it there and then without much consequence. Those things cannot be said of cooked cakes.

The trick to mastering raw cake making is knowing what to add when and how to adjust the recipes accordingly. Once you have this information, you’re really unstoppable!

That’s why this class is about educating you on the fundamental core ingredients so you can better understand how they work together in various ways to create different results. This class is perfect for absolute beginners and avid bakers alike.

What Equipment Do I Need?

In an ideal world, you’d have a Vitamix ( or another similar type of high-speed blender with a tamper stick ) and a food processor. I use a Vitamix blender and a Sage Kitchen Wizz food processor. However, a Nutri bullet and a mini food processor will do the trick for starting out. You can then upgrade down the line if you’d like to.

Absolutely! This class is suited to beginners and more advanced students alike. This class will teach you which ingredients to use and how to combine them for the best results. I will tell you everything about cakes without eggs, dairy, gluten, soy, wheat and artificial sugars :)

Did you know?

There is A LOT OF HOMEWORK... Just kidding, there isn’t any. However, to get the most out of the class I suggest you research “raw food”, “raw crackers”, “raw cakes” online or buying some basic raw food books so that you are familiar with basic methods of raw preparation including using a blender, dehydrator and soaking and sprouting nuts and seeds. This will help you to understand some of the content of the class better, but this is definitely not essential. Just come and enjoy the day :-)

He showed us step by step and then we did it together as a class making raw vegan plant-based cake, brownies, fudge and other delicious treats, that brought together the right flavors and textures to make crowd pleasing desserts for everyone, whether they follow a plant-based diet or not. So I treated myself to the Tirawmisu you taught me how to make, whilst watching the bake-off final and it was a real treat! It tasted just like the real deal - but actually soooo much better because its healthy cake 😊🍰. From the fudge recipes I learned on the course, the favorite fudge flavor was definitely blueberry in the office. Now all my colleagues want me to make these treats daily, I'm soooo popular lol

Just like becoming an expert in wine–you learn by drinking it, the best you can afford as its not an expense, its an investment in your and yours for the future. You take what you learn from it, and this case Jason is the best when it comes to a great raw vegan plant-based cakes and learning how to make them, Then by finding the best, there is, whether simple or luxurious.
