What you will do

Panettone is Italy’s most beloved Christmas dessert. Gelato is Italy’s most beloved summer treat. Our master gelato chefs reinterpreted these two seasonal favourites, combining them to create an innovative dessert, perfect for every season, weather and occasion.
Instructed by our chefs, you will produce and customise your creative dessert. The finished product will be a homemade Panettone filled with our signature Gelato, and you will take your creation back home!

The experience is suitable for all ages, you just need to be creative and passionate of Italian gastronomy.
The experience includes 3 stages:
- Tasting and Selection: you will sample several homemade Panettone versions, including two vegan options, as well as a selection of 8 gelato flavours. Then you will choose which gelato flavours to combine with your favourite Panettone version.
- Panettone preparation: Our chefs will show you how to fill a Panettone layer by layer, teaching you the secrets of their craft! You will also be choosing toppings and sauces to customise it your way! Once the panettone is filled, we will deepfreeze them for 10 minutes average.
- Extraction and decoration: While the Panettones “sleep”, Our chefs will walk you through our laboratory and show you how to produce a Gelato flavour of your choice! A Gelato tasting will follow. Once the Panettones are frozen, we'll provide you with the toppings and the tools to decorate your creation and make it beautiful. Finally, Gelato chefs will cook one Panettone in the oven and you will have a taste of our final creation as soon as it will be warm enough! Your own creation will be a gift for you to take home.

About your host, Unico Gelato & Caffè
Elena Manfroni has a long 60-year family history in the gelato business. She is the daughter of one of the owners of Carpigiani, the world’s largest producer of gelato machines. A lover of ice cream since early childhood, Elena watched her father sketch machine designs and soon inherited his passion for gelato tradition.Eng. Ezio Augusto Manfroni (Elena’s father), also known as the Patent Genius, committed his entire life to creating a better world for children and for adults too.
In 2012 Cremeria Funivia founder, Leonardo Ragazzi met Gianluca Vitali and Elena Manfroni, two renowned Bolognese entrepreneurs. Leonardo, Elena and Gianluca soon become inseparable as they all share a passion for Gelato and for quality food.
In 2015 Unico launched their first UK site in the South East borough of Bromley – where gelato and coffee were on offer. Ultimately homemade cakes were introduced. The year also saw Gianluca’s son and three friends join the team to assist with brand identity and marketing communications.
2017 saw the launch of Unico’s second site in the bustling area of Notting Hill in West London. Both sites also launched their new vegan and pastry range. Unico totally re-branded their corporate style with new graphic and interior design.
Early 2018 will see the launch of three further Unico stores in Holland Park, Fulham and St John’s Wood. All sites will offer gelato, coffee, cakes and pastries.
Please let me know any dietary requirements before the experience. We will be tasting a lot of fresh Gelato. I will be providing you aprons, gloves and recipe book. 1 welcoming hot-drink is included.
All students under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
