We went to a beginner's workshop for the family (2 adults and teenage to primary aged kids) and had a fantastic afternoon! It was great to do something together that was fun for us all, and in such a lovely and inspiting studio. We each got to create our own designs and print them ourselves onto a t-shirt or bag. Helen explained it all and encouraged us along with a kind patience. I'd love to go again... Thank you Helen!

Our session with Helen was great. A perfect combination of practical learning under her guidance and creating our own individual work to take home. It was really enjoyable and am planning on doing it again soon.

Helen is very welcoming and knowledgeable and the venue is a working studio with lots of inspirational prints and resources on display. Helen showed us how to create and set up a design created with paper cut outs or tape for printing with a screen and squeegee onto either a bag or tea towel. The finished results were amazing and we all left the session excitedly clutching our creations and buzzing with our new found skill. Helen was brimming with ideas and advice at every stage of the process and enjoyed sharing her expertise with us. Thank you Helen :)

What a fantastic class. I took my partner as a valentines gift as its something she has always wanted to do. Helen was very welcoming and had some biscuits at the ready to snack and some wonderful Jasmine tea. The course itself is very informative and fun and you get a lot of Helen's time due to the intimate size of her workshop which is fantastic. I would highly recommend this class to anyone. We got a tote bag that each of us had made plus some samles we had made which are all being put to good use. Definitely go to this class, you wont regret it.

I had a great time at Helen’s class, her studio was lovely with lots of inspiration and examples of work she’s previously created. I’d never done fabric printing before but Helen explained the process really clearly and let us have a go on a sample piece of fabric before we created our final product. She gave individual guidance in choosing our designs and how to cut the stencils, even offering tea and biscuits which was a lovely extra! Helen didn’t rush us even though the class ran on a little, allowing us all to finish our work. I’m now left with a fab tote bag that I’ve already had compliments on! Overall a really fun friendly class, would definitely recommend :)

This was my first course booked through Obby and I was SO pleased I signed up for it. The class was a really good size of 4 people so we all had enough time to take everything on board. Helen is really friendly, welcoming and patient. She explained the screen-printing processes clearly, showing us all the equipment and guiding us through each step making sure everyone knew what they were doing. We all had a practise run before putting our own chosen designs onto Tote Bags or Tea Towels. There were lots of fabric paints, stencils, shapes and ideas to choose from if anyone wanted some inspiration. Helen gave everyone 1:1 help and attention - not to mention some fab Jasmin Tea! So we all had plenty of time, nothing was rushed (in fact the course ran over). It was great to come away feeling you have learnt something new and better yet - created something that you could take with you. I would highly recommend Helen's course to anyone wanting to learn screen-printing. It's a very therapeutic, creative and rewarding craft. I'd definitely like to go back and learn some more screen printing techniques! Thanks Helen for a really lovely morning of learning and creating! x

I thoroughly enjoyed Helen’s class; it was the perfect mix with an authentic studio to work in alongside an informative, welcoming and productive session with an expert. I’ve caught the bug and can’t wait to screen print more. Thanks again Helen, I’ll definitely be back.
Sarah Wiseman - 13 January 2020
Helen was fantastically welcoming and easy to chat to. She taught the class in a very relaxed way that put us all at ease. We completed two different screen prints - the first was a purposefully quick design and print to get us used to the process (I'm turning mine into a makeup bag!) and the second was a carefully planned one. The venue is really lovely and full of bits and pieces to inspire you. I went in without an idea and came out with two pieces of screen printing that I can't stop telling people about!

Helen was an absolutely wonderful teacher - friendly, encouraging, calm and clear. Plus her own screen printing work in her workshop was beautiful. She let me do more than I should have asked for and was really patient and helpful. I made something that I absolutely LOVE and I had a super lovely few hours learning how to screen print in her super cute studio. I would recommend this course to everyone. I definitely now want to do more screen printing. Thank you Helen - my print has pride of place in my room and I feel so happy whenever I look at it! P.S. she also has DELICIOUS jasmine tea.
Lexy - 12 January 2020
Helen is friendly and welcoming, and her studio is lovely! Tea and biscuits were (gratefully) on hand, and she taught us about the basics of screen printing onto fabric. It was great that we were able to have a play at the technique before creating a print on a tote bag or tea towel to dry and take home. The workshop was very informative and fun, Helen has created a really welcoming atmosphere where you can be creative without judgement, it was fab! Will definitely be going back!

Great introduction to screen printing. It was lovely to meet Helen and learn from her in her beautiful studio. The class allowed for a good balance of creativity/freedom and support - the smaller group size helped us get more out of it. After a dry run, you work on your print for a tea towel or tote bag to take home. Would definitely recommend!
