Helen is a textile designer, based at the Chocolate Factory studios N16, London. She hand screen prints designs for a variety of interior accessories . She has over 20 years experience in screen printing and with an MA in mixed media/embroidery at the RCA her work also has a stitched quality and is the signature to her original lampshade range. Helen's teaching experience is extensive having worked for several years at the Make Lounge in Islington - she enjoyed teaching screen printing, lampshade making and machine embroidery to a lively, sociable after work crowd. She now runs regular after school and holiday workshops at The Bath House Children's Centre in Hackney and taken print workshops into local primary schools. Helen is now pleased to be offering beginners screen printing classes from her fully equipped print studio for both children and adults. Children and young people are incredibly curious and receptive to the hands on experience of screen printing and Helen is enjoying the opportunity to give back to the younger generation of creatives, eager to learn. For adult workshops - this is a chance to try something new - have fun with friends and get creative without fear of messing up - screen printing is all about surprise and uncertainty with some amazing results, whether intentional or not and it's all good stuff.

Helen run for me a birthday t-shirt and bag screen printing workshop for my 10 year old and 5 friends. They had a marvellous time making them and all the children and parents were really delighted with the quality of the final items. I've been recommending the birthday workshops to other parents ever since!

My daughter and her friend attended Helen's workshop. There were items laid out to inspire them and help them come up with their own ideas. They produced lovely bags and came out with a very good idea of how to screen print.

The class was absolutely fantastic, a group of 6 kids ranging from 5-13yrs old. I wasn't sure what to expect. .but we all couldn't be happier. My 5yr old loved making his own t-shirt. Helen was calm and explained all the processes to the children. It was all very hands on and allowed the kids to be creative and independent with their designs. As soon add their session ended they wanted us to re-book. We are all all definitely going back!
