In this class, you will learn how to do a macrame square knot to make the main strap, before learning how to make tassels to add as the finishing touches of your wonderful yoga mat holder. This is the perfect workshop for those wanting to learn macrame and for all those yogis out there in need of a yoga mat holder, who don't want to buy a new one! Instead, you’ll have fun learning a brand new skill that you can apply to other DIY projects in the future. You will be making your yoga mat holder in a beautiful 100% unbleached eco-cotton cord - provided by us. We will also provide you with the crochet metal rings needed and will show you how to attach the cords to the rings before we start on the macrame. It is possible you might not finish the macrame strap in the workshop, but we will show you everything you need to know to if you need to finish in your own time. After a couple of years of macrame being back on trend we think it's safe to say that it's here to stay (yay!). We've come up with a nifty and useful new Macrame workshop - macrame yourself a bag! We can see this bag being a staple in everyone's wardrobe and a must-have for any shopper trying to ban those plastic bags out of their lives. We will teach you the basic macrame knots you need for the majority of all macrame projects and the techniques to combine them and macrame your way to your next favourite bag! All the skills and techniques you learn in this workshop will enable you to make macrame wall hangings and plant holders. The knots are all the same we just design the pattern a little differently.

We would love to have you join us for our monthly macrame workshop at Space 2 Make, where  Debbie will teach you the basic macrame knots and you will create your very own plant hanger which you can proudly say you made with your own hands. Afterwards you can use your skills to create more macrame projects such as wall hangers,  purses etc.. It’s all possible once you know the basic knots! If you would like to macrame or know a friend that would there is nothing more satisfying than making it yourself. Bring a friend or come by yourself, we will provide the friendly welcome, materials, the music and the creative venue, you provide the desire to be creative. The session takes place downstairs which is ideal as we also have ground floor accessible toilets. All materials are included so all you need to bring is yourself.
