Learn to cook and feast the Middle Eastern way: A Sufra of 7 dishes
3hrs
Beginner
What happens in this class?

You will learn how to cook authentic Middle Eastern food - not the typical dishes you have in restaurants but what we eat in our households every day. Clean, healthy and flavourful dishes. Our cuisine is built around intimate gatherings in the kitchen - mothers, aunts, grandmothers - sharing stories and endless hours of advice, while preparing the “sufra” (or spread of food) composed of delicate and carefully balanced rustic recipes that have been carefully preserved and passed down from generations past. Our cuisine is both generous in substance and abundant in flavor - making it some of the most exquisite food in the…

. Samya was very friendly and her kitchen is a beautiful space, she didn’t hesitate at all from letting us access everything we needed. We were Offered wine while we cooked while we cooked the several dishes on thE menu. This is not a class where you’d feel you didn’t get to cook enough. Though we felt that maybe there was too much quantity of each item for just 2 people, pity to see food wasted, maybe takeaway boxes can be given. We even cooked Fatayer at the beginning so that it was ready for us to Nibble on through the rest of our lesson Which we thought was thoughtful , though could have been better baked! She gave us some tips, like how to cut an onion without crying (thank God). We learnt about the fresh and healthy organic ingredients she uses and how she’s attempting a zero waste approach in her cooking. Finally, Samya set up a lovely table for us to dine at. I’d gifted the class as an anniversary gift for my husband A different yet special way to celebrate!

Samya herself is an easy going spirited chef who knows how bring joy and flavors to the table by creating a balance of socializing while cooking together. I highly recommend to have this experience, as you learn how to cook easy, healthy and super delicious Lebanese dishes which is very different from the Restaurant dishes. It is a great place to meet new people as well as team building between colleges, which I see the beauty that it happens naturally alongside wine and dining. The whole experience is a must !!!

The best place to get a taste of the Middle East in London- and this is coming from an actual Lebanese. Forget about fancy dining, this intimate cosy and learning experience makes all the difference. I attended Samya's class with a group of my colleagues, we had so much fun, bonded over making food and learned simple yet essential techniques that pin down the essence of authentic food flavouring, and that are easy to replicate at home. Samya is a great host, confident cook, and her method of teaching is super friendly and approachebale. If you're lucky with good weather you might get to sit in her mesmerising garden and have an even more magical experience.

What a great night with such an amazing host! I learnt a lot about Middle Eastern cuisine regarding the history of authentic recipes, selecting the right ingredients and the cooking process. The venue was bright and spacious with a well designed interior, and just an easy walk from St.Johns Wood tube station. If you are looking to experience a group cooking class while enjoying delicious food with friends I highly recommend Samya's Middle Eastern Cooking Class.

I happened to be visiting Abbey Road studios as one of London's landmarks on Tuesday and found out that Samya's Kitchen was just around the corner. Luckily she had available spots and booked me right in. The venue for the class is gorgeous, very well decorate and has a great vibe. The class was super fun and Samya was welcoming& friendly. We learnt how to make so many dishes, the food was fantastic! Also got to meet other people taking the class so all in all was a super fun evening. Would do it again.

I went with some friends yesterday afternoon and it was a very well spent one! I was pleasantly surprised to see that Samya really cares about the quality of the produce being used in class: everything was organic & free range. We actually learnt how to make 6 whole Middle eastern dishes and luckily the weather was nice so we sat in the beautiful garden and had complimentary wine. The experience was therapeutic and relaxing, Samya sent us the recipes the next day as she really wanted us to be in the present moment and engaged.

The venue is really cool. Samya's Kitchen is just off abbey road near by abbey road studios. I was in London for the day and decided to learn something new and since I love lebanese food this sounded like a great idea. Samya is very friendly and knowledgeable, the class is casual and fun. It was one of the best spent afternoons I have had in a while, not only did i learn to make 6 Middle eastern dishes but also met new people in the class who were like minded people. All together amazing experience, definitely recommend it!
