I’ve wanted to attend a workshop to learn how to make resin seascapes for ages and I’m so pleased I went to this one. The instructions were so clear and easy to follow and Richard is an encouraging teacher. I’m thrilled with the coasters we made - they are stunning. The course has given me the confidence to try at home as we were given lots of tips and tricks for achieving the best résultats. I’d highly recommend this thoroughly relaxing course in a beautiful location.

I returned to do Part 2 of this class and enjoyed it just as much as Part 1. Having never done woodworking, it was great fun using all the equipment and turning my work into a finished piece. Richard gave everyone excellent instruction and was really patient and great fun throughout.

I learnt a great deal from the beginner's course this morning, not only in terms of what was being made in the class, but also things that I can apply to making resin items at home. Richard is a great tutor and is extremely knowledgeable. He is also very patient and had detailed answers for the barrage of questions thrown at him. I think the addition of some printed information or diagrams of the processes used would be valuable as a reference point. I am very much looking forward to attending the second part of the beginner's course. The venue was easy to find with plenty of parking. The studio is welcoming, but I think the workspace was a little cramped (that may be a personal preference, however, as I like to sprawl things out when I work). All in all, a great way to spend a morning!

Have done 2 courses at the river shop, both were excellent courses. Richard who ran the classes has a great work shop for learning and the courses attended were well run and fun. Richard gives indepth knowledge for the courses being run and ensures safety at all times. Will def be attending further courses.

Really enjoyable day of whittling and wood carving under expert instruction and I now have my own bespoke wooden spoon. Recommend to anyone who wants to experience the meditative joys of wood carving (or just playing with an axe).

A once in a lifetime experience that I now want to share with all my friends and family. To experience a day in the life of such a skilled artisanal woodworker in its own right was incredibly special and interesting. Let alone getting stuck in myself doing things I’d never imagine being able to do: from using heavy machinery to cut wood to skilfully mixing and creating with resin. My table is something my family and I will cherish for a long time and I can’t wait to tell people ‘I did that!’. Highly recommend and will be back for the coffee table, serving dish, and whatever else Richard can teach me
