What happens in this class?

Make your own Sneakers from reclaimed leather, learn about patterns, stitching leather, shoe design and leather working. Make your very own sneakers over two sessions.

Day 1 includes:

  • Deciding on your shoe style
  • Cutting the pattern
  • Designing details
  • Choosing and cutting leathers

Day 2 includes:

  • Understanding construction
  • Learning to hand stitch leather
  • Assembling your shoes

What is provided: Select from our collection of 100% reclaimed leather. Tea, coffee and snacks are provided and we recommend you bring your lunch.

I need your shoe size 3 weeks in advance - so text immediately to confirm shoe sizes

Love and Salvage

Love and Salvage is trying to plug a gap - creating durable fashion accessories from waste materials and teaching others the skills to do the same!

Working with leather and bag and shoe making is easy. The workshops demystify techniques so that students leave with the knowledge to approach their own more complex projects.

We work with local furniture businesses collecting their waste leathers and fabrics to turn into accessories. So students have a huge range of trendy colours and textures to choose from. All abilities are supported in small classes in the designers own home.

Eli is the most wonderful teacher - patient and so friendly. I've been on two 2-day trainer making workshops now and both have been ENORMOUS fun. It really is the best way to spend a weekend and then you get to wear you custom made trainers that you've actually made yourself! It's just brilliant and I thoroughly recommend it. xxx

I made great sneakers - still can't believe how easy and fun it was! Eli was so much fun and such a warm teacher. I felt like I took more than a pair of shoes back home at the end of class! I will defo be back again and with a friend!

This was the second course that i attended with the lovely Eli at Love and Salvage .. so I knew I was going to have lots of fun lots of cups of tea and and end up with a product that I was extremely proud of. I made a pair of sneakers in a beautiful burgundy leather , which I wear very regularly. Eli as usual was informative and super friendly . i would highly highly recommend attending a class at Love and salvage, its quite addictive. xx
