Cyanotype printmaking is the oldest form of cameraless photography. Photosensitive chemicals on the paper are activated by sunlight leaving a white shadow trace of objects placed on the surface. It is a fun, but fickle medium which is dependent on many uncontrollable factors including the hidden image which is only revealed at the very end of the process.
This practical workshop will cover the basic technique of cyanotype printmaking in easy to follow steps suitable for all abilities. We will experiment with a variety of different surfaces, subjects and compositions to demonstrate the diverse potential of the medium. Each participant should come away with a series of successful prints and hopefully a new creative passion.
The workshop, led by Lisa Howard, Founder of Indigo Studio, will take place between 3pm and 5.30pm on Saturday 2nd July in the beautiful garden studio at: No5 Workshop, 5 Pemberton Rd, East Molesey, Surrey KT8 9LG.
