    About this class

Join this half-term class and learn how to create wonderful and delicious sushi art, accompanied with Japanese tea. This class is a great way to spend an afternoon with your child in a hands-on, fun and creative environment that will have you rushing back for more!

    In this class

Students will make the savoury part of the sushi, consisting of 2 to 3 different types. These will include small 'temari' sushi balls.

After this alice will show you how to present your sushi with an artistic flair, which will be enjoyed with a cup or 2 of Japanese tea. There will also be a selection of home-made matcha truffles, yuzu or sweet red bean paste dorayaki, cherry blossom cake and many more!

You will have a choice of Japanese teas including:

    • Matcha
    • 'popcorn tea'
    • hoji cha
    • cherry blossom
    • sencha
    • jasmine

    Now you can

    • Try making some of these fabulous creations at home
    • Experiment with your sushi art, using the techniques learnt during the class
    • Show others what you have learnt and pass on your skills to them

    Fun fact

Making real maki sushi (sushi rolls) is considered an art form in Japan. The sushi masters choose the ingredients so that the tastes, textures and colours all complement each other. The rolls are served sliced so that customers are able to see that artistic work inside.
