What happens in this class?

There are a few beginners projects you can choose from. You will be shown how to handle the tools safely. Then transferring a design onto the wood. The tutor will demonstrate each technique as you work through the project. If there is time, you can finish your piece with an oil or wax polish. You will be working alongside some more experienced carvers who are regulars to the Saturday sessions.

Things to remember

Please wear sturdy shoes in the workshop. All tools and timber are supplied. Please don’t buy a cheap starter set of woodcarving tools. These are of poor quality and not worth the money. We will stop for lunch and go to the lounge overlooking the Thames. Bring your own…

Really enjoyable session. Roli is a great teacher and the people in the class were really easy to get on with as well :) In this class I attempted to make a spoon, didn't go exactly to plan but it was completely my fault. I would 100% recommend this class, Roli is brilliant and it was a really nice relaxing way to spend the day!

Incredibly informative and hands on course. Great exposure to different type of wood, tools and techniques. The instructor Rolli is incredibly kind and accommodating. The workshop is well provisioned and the course is well prepared especially new students just beginning and looking for a first taste. Very positive and collaborative environment. I left feeling very happy with the experience. I would definitely recommend!
