A new after school whittling class for young people aged 11-18years. Learn safe knife skills, make things that are useful and beautiful to take home.

Projects will depend on age and skills of each participant.

All sessions will be held outside, in the woodland area at Hackney City Farm.

Strict minimum age 11 yrs. Please dress appropriately for outdoors and bring a snack and a drink.

Sessions must be booked by a parent/ carer, a participation agreement will be emailed in advance to be signed by the parent/carer.

London Green Wood

London Green Wood is cooperative of woodworkers practising rural crafts in the city. Based at Hackney City Farm, we work with green wood straight from the log and hand tools. All the wood we use has been felled locally.

We have been running events and teaching courses since 2011. We promise a beautiful setting, friendly people, the satisfaction of learning new skills and a fire when it gets chilly. We run courses for adults and for families. We offer low income and unwaged concessions on many of our courses.
