Make Your Own Sneakers

Eli is a friendly, patient and knowledgeable teacher who walked me through the whole process from initial design sketching to finished pair of sneakers. Eli is creative and experienced and she thinks along with what you try to accomplish. I loved the creative environment of the studio and hands on approach during the workshop. This workshop showed me what’s possible. I wasn’t familiar with sewing but during this course I learned the basics hands on and gained confidence. Next to that I love the philosophy of love&salvage (using leather from the waste cycle and turning them into bags and shoes) and I’m proud of my sneakers!

Eli is an absolute angel! Her positive, energetic vibe & willingness to support and help you at every stage of the sneaker making class, made the entire experience so fun and seamless! The time has passed so quickly and at the end I felt like I had known how to make shoes since forever! I would definitely recommnend her as teacher. She's patient, fun and knowledgeable which makes a great mix for anyone who'd like to get into this craft. I might go for a second class myself in the future!

I have made a few things with Eli now. I always have a lovely time, chatting and drinking tea. I'm amazed at how her designs and instructions make making these beautiful items seem so easy!

I designed some overcomplicated (my fault) sneakers and Eli helped me realise my dreams! She is so friendly, supportive and encouraging and kept the conversation flowing throughout the epic sessions (my fault again!). My partner and I did an online, two-day sneaker workshop with Eli, and we learned everything we needed to make a pair of sneakers from scratch. I still can't believe we did it! Eli is super lovely and inspiring, and she took us step-by-step through the process of envisioning sneakers, choosing colors, cutting out patterns and following them, sewing and painting the details of the shoes, punching holes for eyelets, and lastly, sewing the leather upper into the rubber sole. Eli provided everything we needed to create the sneakers and was a wonderful teacher from start to finish. I was so happy with the final product, and I felt like I made a new friend in the process. This is truly a special experience. This workshop is phenomenal!

I recently did the sneaker making workshop with Eli and it was so great. There were loads of different leathers and paints to choose from so the design options were endless. Eli was a great teacher, especially when I struggled to get the hang of the sewing machine, and was the perfect balance of leaving me to get on with it and helping whenever asked. Really love my shoes and am sure they will get lots of compliments when I wear them.
