Absolutely fabulous.
Posting on behalf of my daughter.
She did 2 courses with remode collective.
She is very young(10) extremely keen and now full of inspiration.
My daughter is autistic and has ADHD . Her teacher was full of knowledge (Rita)
I would like to say a massive thankyou.
Definitely will be back and excited to learn more .
Thanks PJ
This was a brilliant course that gave me the basic skills I need to use a sewing machine. Having only 4 people on the course meant the instructor had plenty of time to answer our questions and give us bespoke advice.
Absolutely loved this course! Elena was so kind and knowledgable - would highly recommend this course to anyone wanting to learn more about styling, or trying to figure out their personal style!
I wasn't aware it was a 3 week class
So was delighted it was better value than I thought.
Elena is lovely, very friendly and a relaxed atmosphere in class. I learned a lot about my style and body shape and feel more confident choosing clothes to suit me. The only downside was I felt a little more time could have been given to discussing actual patterns/sewing/projects we hoped to do and more advice on how fabric hangs and its effect on certain body shapes. This was just covered quickly at the end of the last session. Maybe one session dedicated to this would help.
All in all, though, Elena was very knowledgeable, and I really enjoyed the sessions. I would recommend this to anyone not just people interested in sewing.
Excellent course!
Great course, demystified something I’ve been interim for years. Tutor was fantastic
Fantastic course, full of great tips and ideas and I feel so much more confident now. Thank you!
A great course to get from idea/pattern to a finished product (or close to finished). The atmosphere is supportive and kind, and the tutors super knowledgeable so they can help at every level.
My only suggestion would be to set up a course for complete beginners, with a basic garment and step-by-step instructions, as I sometimes found the more complex information overwhelming at my level. A little glossary of terms, to take home, would be helpful too - selvage, seam allowance etc :-)
Thanks again for a fab endeavour and course!
Remode classes are excellent.
I have been making a pair of trousers as part of the dressmaking class and despite a tricky pattern with minimal instructions and not quite enough fabric (dang !) I have had amazing, positive instruction and encouragement to complete the task.
Very relaxed but productive and informative workshop. What a lovely tutor and fantastic organisation. Looking forward to signing up for more classes.
Superb. Monica is an excellent teachet
Fantastic introduction to sewing and great explanation of when and how to apply stitches for clothing repairs. Will be exploring this more. Thanks
I recently did the first part of a 2 part quilting workshop with Monica. It was really informative and good fun. A very relaxed, friendly atmosphere and the perfect introduction to get me started with my quilting practice.
Remode’s ethos of reducing textile waste is important and progressive. I will definitely be attending other classes. Highly recommend to other textile enthusiasts.
This is my third dress making course with the Remode Collective and I'm learning so much. The smaller classes allow for everyone to work at their own pace, and Monika's excellent instruction makes the whole process very calm and stress free!
Cerri gave us an over view of different ways in which to repair various items of clothing to prevent them going to landfill. We covered different mending techniques, practiced a few key stitches. We each brought an item of clothing to obtain advice as to how to go about fixing. I took a wholly jumper. Which I have now completed repairing. Result, I will wear it proudly tomorrow! Thank you Cerri! ❤️🪡🧵
I really enjoyed the Basic sewing class last night, Kerry was absolutely brilliant! Very fun and professional. I learned a lot of tips for mending my clothes and I would love to attend another class soon!
Great workshop in basic skills, which helped me finally pluck up the courage to get my new sewing machine out of plastic and start practicing stitches. Highly recommend!
This company has some very shady practices. I was looking forward to the course, but five days before I had to cancel due to family issues and a work trip. Any other similar programmes would allow you to reschedule and join a future course, seeing as you've already PAID for it. Not Remode Collective. I asked to join a course at the end of June, giving them a month's notice. They refused to confirm, saying they'll first see if the course gets filled, and then accommodate me if it doesn't. And by 'accommodate' they mean they'll let me know 'a few days before the course starts'. So they prioritise new customers over the ones who've already paid, but not received the service they paid for. They take your money and if you have to cancel within less than 10 days, you don't get a refund or the choice to attend a future course that suits you.
What a fun way to spend a morning! This class was pitched just right for a beginner like me. Francia was super welcoming, patient and made the learning fun. I have now borrowed a sewing machine from a friend and will get experimenting!
Great class teaching basic sewing machine skills. Highly recommend for beginners
Very knowledgeable tutor who was good at explaining things, gave us lots of tips and really improved my confidence. The handouts were useful and the venue is easy to get to.
Francia was an amazing teacher. I loved the course and learned loads. Highly recommend it to sewists of all levels!
This was a really amazing course. I learnt so much in such a short time ( cutting, matching shapes, backing , quilting and edging techniques) for quilting projects. I have already used it to make another patchwork and quilting project.
Very good class, small number of students so lots of one to one attention. Was able to draft a basic pattern from favourite trousers with instructions for extras like pockets, fly, darts and pleats. Knowledgeable and friendly instructor too. Would recommend.
Great tuition, at the sewist’s own level. A great idea, cloning much-loved garments. The location of the venue was good. The only thing that could be improved is the work space - a little noisy and cold.
Francia was an incredible teacher. Very knowledgeable and supportive. She really made me feel like I could do whatever I set my mind to! I definitely would say I've been inspired to follow this new-found hobby through, go to another class and keep adding to my skills. So excited to one day own my own sewing machine!
Fantastic class and teacher. Will certainly do another class
Francia was really welcoming and friendly and taught us LOADS in the short time we had. I’m so pleased to practice new skills and hopefully book in some more courses.
Brilliant class! Would highly recommend!
Superb
Great workshop - lots of fabrics and threads etc to work with and very good sewing machines. Small class size meant Monika had plenty of time for each participant, and she was very good at working with people’s ideas, rather than imposing anything. I liked it being split with two weeks between - gave me time to work on my piece at home. I was very pleased with what I produced. Would definitely recommend!
Great class! Detailed instruction from the very patient teacher and very friendly environment. Would repeat or take another offering!
I have never enjoyed an experience to the fullest such as this one! Our mentor is simply the best! Her instructions are straight to the point, her vibe is amazing! Makes time fly without realising it, in a fun yet calm environment. Thank you, really!
This was a really enjoyable course and a perspective that as sewists we don't often take... It's easy to focus on the skills acquisition part of sewing, rather than sewing a coherent and flattering wardrobe. Elena is so knowledgeable, friendly and enthusiastic this was a really good course. My one suggestion is to swap the fashion drawing element for a session to discuss sewing plans in light if the courses teachings. For example, is this pattern right for me? What adaptations would suit me best? What fabric choices? How could it be styled etc. We had a version of this discussion on the course and all agreed it was super useful so would be good to consider adding that to the syllabus.
I am thrilled to have engaged in the course, the mentor is amazing! her instructions were so clear and straightforward that you can’t go wrong with them. It was an overall wonderful experience that I keep recommending to my sewing lovers friends. Keep up the great work!
Excellent course that gives a thorough introduction to various aspects of style - I came away with lots of ideas and it really inspired me to think consciously about what I will sew next. The tutor is very knowledgable, enthusiastic and helpful. Highly recommend.
Absolutely loved this class - if you've ever wondered what to do with any scraps or odds and ends you have then this is the workshop for you. A good mixture of guidance/inspiration and experimenting yourself using Remode's wonderful collection of scraps.
I did the “clone your favourite clothing item” course, it was great and I’m really excited to use this technique with other favourite garments.
This is the second time I've done the class and I really enjoyed it. I ended up being the only attendee, so I was very grateful for the class still going ahead despite this. As well as making a pouch we also repaired a hat. The teacher (I think her name was Jen but I'm not 100% sure!) was lovely and patient, I'd definitely go again!
Great course and great teacher but too short to really clone... we cut out a pattern so you really need the skills to then be able to make the garment yourself or book onto another course.
Fab workshop, lovely atmosphere, and I walked home having learned basic stitches and mended a dress. Now keen to purchase a sewing machine for the first time in my life! Thanks Jen :-)
I really enjoyed the quilting course and have come away with lots of new skills - keen to put them into action immediately and going to make a Xmas table runner. Venue easy to find and teacher was great thank you so much-great value for money
Really enjoyed this class. The small size means that you can get help/advice from the tutor when you need it, and the tutor Jen was lovely. It's a really relaxing way to spend an evening and quilting uses up fabric scraps too - what's not to love!
Excellent! Does what it says in the tin, and more.
I only wanted to learn how to use a sewing machine to do simple hems. I should point out that sewing machines have slightly intimidated me for decades so I would have been happy just to make the thing stitch straight lines. But within no time our teacher had us all parctising our 'driving test' sewing backwards, forwards, changing direction and turning curves. Then we were doing edges and zips and corners. Before I knew it we had all made a toiletries bag style zipped pouch. Mine is a bit wonky, but I love it and I really surprsied at myself. All this is down to the fantastic teacher who took care of every one of us, encouraging and guiding us every step of the way. I would recommend the course to anyone wanting to learn this incredibly useful, and sadly underrated, life skill. I'm now planning the course to attend.
Excellent for learning the basics for using a sewing machine
Loved this 3h workshop and it was lovely to be able to see the pouch at the end of the class and to take it home to show off (despite all the imperfections) 😅. The teacher Jen was very experienced and patient, particularly with a beginner like me who never used a sewing machine before.
I personally would have liked to have some keys notes to take home (or sent electronically) for future reminders/reference. But I would definitely recommend it to anyone interested to learn and gain confidence in starting machine sewing. It’s such a great skill to have to mend clothes, alter and create your unique pieces to save money and embark on a slow fashion movement. 🌿
Work course was truly the most engaging I’ve ever done. Genuinely enjoyable and certainly useful.
The class was great and it was so satisfying to learn a new skill. Good value for money.
I learned a great deal in the class, wonderful instructor and students!
Thoroughly enjoyed the class last night. Can't wait for the next session. Francia was so informative
Everything is Friendly kind and teach me well
Very happy with my pouch at the end of the class.
Tables are a bit wobbly and I think the class would benefit from printed instructions! But happy with how the final product turned out! Would recommend!
I loved this course! Instructor was great and the small group size worked really well. The only thing I would change would be to add a 3rd session, maybe a few weeks later when we could bring in our final makes. I would highly recommend Remode and would like to attend another course in the future.
Brilliant first part of workshop with Monika! I thoroughly enjoyed it, learning techniques for the project I was working on and understanding other things to try. Great to see samples already made and being able to see different styles, colours and materials used. There was an amazing range of textiles and threads to choose from which was great!
I would definitely recommended this workshop - it’s fun to try and with the expert help from Monika !
What a great course, Francine was the best teacher so patient helped everyone no matter what level they were at and showed everything step by step, I will definately do more courses as I feel so much more confident after this one, this is the second one I’ve done and this was the best by far 🙂
Very friendly teacher, no question a problem. She had the upmost confidence in us all and enjoyed our surprise, when we realised we could make something!
I loved this course. I got a really good start on how to cut patterns and put together my own clothes. Can't wait to do more. Thank you Jen and Francia
I learned how to thread the machine and how to do different stitches, teacher was very friendly, venue was okay but comfy seats would be good, used my own machine which was great.
I thoroughly enjoyed the class. The class size was really small so getting help was not a problem. Everyone was so friendly and I was amazed at how quickly I was able to make a small item which was definitely down to the skill and patience of the teacher. I would recommend this class.
Amazing experience! I still can't believe that I made my own pouch with out any prior experience! Now I m more confident to create my own projects! Thank you very much!
This is my 3rd course with Remode, the teachers are great and very knowledgeable and helpful and it is a really useful way to get started with sewing. Top Marks!
I loved this course! The teacher was excellent - she explained everything very clearly, gave advice and assistance when needed, but was also very relaxed and hands off. This meant it was a really lovely environment to learn and work in. The group was small and really friendly. I'm amazed how much we all achieved in such a short space of time! I highly recommend this course.
An excellent workshop for learning new skills and fine tuning. The class size is perfect and we were given all the necessary equipment and help with our individual projects. Super kudos to our instructor who was thorough and lovely. Also a fun class! Will be back for more.
Thoroughly enjoyed first part of this class and looking forward to second. Jen is lovely and the whole experience very relaxing and rewarding!!
It was a great experience. I enjoyed it and the teaching was informative. It is a course that I would recommend for all people that are interest in sewing. Let us take sewing to next level.
Great 3 hours going over the basics, with a machine and by hand. Small group so very easy to ask questions and make sure we all understood. Great help/advise for mending clothes. My daughter (16) got some material and did a fantastic job of fixing her jacket with the stitches she had learnt.
I very much enjoyed the evening. The instructor was very nice, patient and thorough. I was pleasantly surprised to come away with something I had made. I would recommend this course to anyone wanting to learn how to use a sewing machine.
Another great class sharing tricks and tips on how to select pattern sizes and blend to cut. Looking forward to part 2.
Workshops with Remode is as inspiring as always. I joined the basic sewing class a while back and I must say it was transformative, since then I had been making various bits and bots. I was drawn to the art textile workshop as I had been wanting to continue to develop, I must say its one inspiring workshop! You get a lot of time with the tutor and Grace was very patient and knowledgeable. Not intimidating at all for a beginner :) Cant wait for the next workshop!

Great class 😀At last the penny has dropped you need to really look at your pattern and know your accurate body measurements to make the necessary adjustments before any cutting. Monika explained the ways to make the pattern adjustments really well.
Thank you
My girls had a wonderful time and learned a lot!
As a complete beginner I have found the 8 week dressmaking course incredibly helpful for me to get started with all elements of dressmaking and has also given me confidence to try things I never would have on my own. I would recommend this to anyone looking to get started with dressmaking.
Monika has been a great teacher, very knowledgeable, patient and a really lovely person.
I really enjoyed the workshop, Grace was lovely and explained everything really well, the project was fun and I had a great time!
Dress making course is my class , the place, the teacher and classmate everythings are good.
Great quilting course from Grace. Informative but also informal with lots of advice, practical tips and help. Would ideally benefit from being a 3 session course.
Grace, the course leader pitched the course perfectly for the group. She was so helpful and patient and pointed out lots of ways of starting this hobby without breaking the bank. Would definitely go back to classes through Remode again.
Really loved the course very therapeutic, I was very pleased with my result 1st time, the coaching from the teacher was great giving me inspiration for more samples to produce cannot wait for my next session. Thank you .
I loved the alteration dress making class. I learnt lots of top tips and how to adapt my own clothes. Thank you
really enjoyed the class. First time using a sewing machine and felt I got a grasp on the basics. Also surprised by how much I enjoyed learning some new hand sewing stitches. The class was small and the teacher so lovely. Would definitely recommend!
I would recommend this class, was very enjoyable learning dress making skills . I found the class stimulating in a relaxing environment. I will definitely be looking out for other classes.
I really enjoyed the dress making course and learnt so many tips and techniques from Monika ,our tutor. Monika is knowledgeable, patient, fun and a great teacher and gave us so many tips about pattern fitting, sewing and dressmaking. I will definitely be returning for future classes at Remode Collective.
Very good class. Small class size means lots of personal attention. Monika is a great teacher. Went from never having used a pattern to being confident enough to adjust it a bit. Would thoroughly recommend Monika, this class and Remode Collective.
I did the 4 week dress making course and loved it. I learnt so much in a short space of time and Cécile was such a fabulous teacher. I liked that the classes were small which meant Cécile could give us all good 1:1 help when required. Highly recommend
Great class on fabric art techniques and I wish it would run as a more regular drop in.
Absolutely superb. The teacher was full of ideas and inspiration. Fantastic practical and artistic application. Wonderful if this teaching was in schools
Love learning from Monika! A lot to take in in 4 weeks - feel I've hardly started my garment! Maybe some guidance about best to have your own sewing machine! I do have but it's very old and doesn't really do what is required, eg zigzag stitch. Will sign up for another course but that all adds to the cost of the garment.
Really enjoyed this class , would recommend to anyone who wants to learn some skills in Quilting. Great teacher, 5stars
Really enjoyed the course, learned a lot in only a couple of evenings. Would highly recommend this course
Friendly knowledgeable teacher and a good class size, small enough that you could get personal attention when you needed it but also good to have others there with their own questions etc. Definitely recommend this for anyone who's a complete beginner or like me just very very rusty!
The workshop was very good. Very welcoming and helpful. I am as complete beginner but have signed up for a 4 week dressmaking course with remode as a result of this course!
Really enjoyed this class, would recommend to anyone wishing to start sewing . 🧵
Really enjoyed this course. Monika gave me the confidence to try different ways of adjusting clothes. Great venue too.
An excellent introduction to sewing techniques, I brought my own small project which I was able to complete within the time - highly recommend!
Thoroughly enjoyed this course - well paced, supportive teachers, small group, excellent machines and materials….didn’t feel at all intimidated by my total lack of experience as teachers and student group so encouraging - hoping to do another course on quilting very soon.
That’s the 4th workshop I’ve done now. I’ve loved them all. In this mixed media workshop, Anabel was such a great tutor, generous, fun and had so many practical tips to share. I am so happy with what I made and will definitely apply what I’ve learnt to other projects. I’ll definitely be back for more!
really fun and inspiring. the possibilities are endless.. there should be places for doing this everywhere!!
Great tutoring and a very accessible class
I had such an amazing time at my basic sewing skills lesson. The equipment used was perfect for a beginner and I walked away from it with the confidence to use my sewing machine at home (setup, settings and more). Not only was my instructor absolutely lovely and very patient, the class format meant I acquired the skills to work on a variety of tasks. In my class I walked away with a very cute large pencil holder (which I now use as a travel makeup bag) and also fixed two items I had brought in. I think I’ve already saved in tailoring fees what I spent on the class! Looking forward to attending another class soon.
I very much enjoyed the course in basic dressmaking. It was good revision for me as I haven't sewn much for several years, and it has encouraged me to get going again, with more confidence.
Great fun class, learned loads of techniques and Anabel was a great teacher. Would thoroughly recommend.
Loved the mixed media textile course i did with Anabel at Remode learnt a lot in short space of time, can't wait till next week. Freindly relaxed environment and teacher.
An enjoyable class, with a skilled, helpful and friendly teacher
What a great wee workshop. Anabel is a fab teacher and full of great advice. I learnt lots and Anabel was always happy to answer our questions. Looking forwards to doing a more advanced workshop with Anabel
I loved the workshop abd the teacher was excellent. She was very patient with me and I gained confidence .
Absolutely fabulous.
