Creative and inspiring day, relaxed inclusive environment. Great studio and very accessible.

What a day! I attended the Minerva Workshop course in order to make a pair of hard lampshades and honestly, it was such a terrific experience. I am now the proud owner of two totally handmade lampshades and I can not wait to put them to use. Lottie was so knowledgeable and very helpful when I had questions or needed feedback on the directions I was taking with my work and it gave me confidence to try new techniques and help smooth out any bits I struggled with. The space is light and lovely and my classmates were such good fun. Super 5 star experience!

I booked a group of seven as an away day for our work. We had the best time, all coming away with two lampshades that we were actually really proud of! Not only was it a really fun and informative day, but we also found the atmosphere in the studio really welcoming and loved the airy space that Lottie has so cleverly put together. Magda was a wonderfully patient teacher, clearly showing us what to do in her demonstrations and the result was very interesting - everyones work was so different to each other and clearly showed you can really put your own personality into the process! Thank you again for a great day.

I'm not a naturally crafty person and have some real hangups about my total incompetence whenever I try to make something. Magda was so kind and encouraging, and I felt like I'd been on a real emotional journey as well as coming away from the workshop with two beautiful lampshades that I'd managed to create! Such a warm and supportive environment. Lottie's workshop is also a gorgeous place to work - very light and bright and open - and the whole experience felt like a really good way of leaving my comfort zone and exploring artistic possibilities. Thank you, Magda and Lottie!

I had an entirely fantastic time at Minerva Workshop. The venue itself is absolutely lovely, filled with light and greenery, and both Magda and Lottie were welcoming and warm. Magda's tutorial was informative and easy to follow, and I felt fully supported in my creative endeavours throughout the day, whilst still retaining the freedom to experiment and have fun. The experience of designing my own fabric pattern, assembling the lampshade myself, and leaving with a finished product was fantastic, and has left me feeling eager to seek more opportunities to make things. Also, the vegetarian lunch really was delicious! I really felt that I took so much from the day and would recommend it to anyone.

I am not a natural crafty person so was a little nervous about the course but it was so friendly and relaxed I quickly got into the swing of it and made two gorgeous lampshades that I am very proud of. The choice of colours and materials available was great - I did a roll print in two shades, it looks quite professional and matches the room well. There were of course some tricky parts but Magda was on hand to show tips and tricks which built my confidence so I did the second shade myself . I highly recommend this course if you want a new challenge or have a room you want to personalise.

I just LOVE the lampshade I made on Magda's course!! I couldn't believe how professional it looked - it was so satisfying to complete a whole lampshade in one morning. Magda is a brilliant teacher. This was such a fun course and Magda is so good at attending to all her students' needs. She demonstrated the techniques clearly and guided each of us as much or little as we needed. We were able to choose our own fabric, the size and style of lampshade we wanted to make. I can't recommend Magda's lampshade making class enough. Go for it! You will be so delighted and proud of what you take home.
