Your Teacher

Sak Beh Studio Pottery was founded by Tessa Robinson, who lives and works in London. Her idea was to create a comfortable, homey place to work and be creative. Situated in a very busy and central location, just off Stoke Newington High Street, the studio is a drop of calm in a very fast moving world.

Tessa trained in Fine Art, specialising in sculpture (modelling in clay). On completion of a three year Post Graduate Course at the Royal Academy of Arts, Tessa set up a studio in Hackney. The transition from sculptor to potter came many years later whilst…

I took my girlfriend here for her birthday and we both had a very fun time. The space is clean and tidy and the teacher is very welcoming. We picked a beginner class which was totally appropriate for us. The lesson was very chilled and was at a pace which enabled you to learn and follow the stages without feeling like you were getting left behind. The vibes were good. The music was nice. We had a really fun time. I would definitely go again. I highly recommend at least trying this once in your life. Its not as easy as it looks on tv lol

Great experience. Bought as a gift for my partner, private wheel throwing session for two. We really enjoyed the workshop and can't believe how beautiful our pieces look with the white glaze.

Phenomenal! What a lovely experience… This was booked by my partner as part of my birthday celebration. Despite forgetting to mention we might get a little ( A lot) messy and maybe not to wear white… This was a really great experience from beginning to end! Tessa made us both feel welcomed and at ease from the minute we steered into her quirky studio. She was patient and happy to go over things a few times for two clumsy beginners! After a few hours of laughs & relaxing clay work whilst listening to D’Angelo (Tessa’s great choice), we were surprised when we realised we’d actually managed to create some beautiful work. Thanks to Tessa for a great experience, we’ll definitely be back!

I had a two hour beginners throwing session at Sakbeh with my partner… I couldn’t recommend it enough. Great direction, concise support and a calming creative space.
