Introduction to Watercolour Painting: Birds of Paradise Study

Alma was very patient and made sure I got the most of the session. I was quite slow compared to others but Alma waited till I finished my painting and helped me with the technicalities without rushing me. I thoroughly enjoyed the class.

I enjoyed the workshop, it was about the experience of watercolors, and the goal was to prevent all participants from enjoying coloring the drawing in their own style, with the technique of trainer alma

Fabulous class! Alma was so friendly and welcoming. She patiently showed us the basics and helped us create lovely paintings by the end. Time flew, it was so relaxing! Highly recommend.

I would absolutely recommend this class to anyone. You will receive great advice and Alma's full attention while working on your painting. I enjoyed the clam atmosphere and the fact that only a limited number of people can participate. In the end I had to leave earlier and Alma gave me colours to finish my painting at home. Really happy with the whole experience. As someone who didn't paint for years, I found the class easy to follow and feel more confident to start painting again.

I cannot recommend Alma more! She is so talented and patient with her students and you can tell she genuinely cares and wants you to enjoy the class as much as she does. Her studio in SW is so lovely as well and she provides everything you need. I will definitely be going back to more of her classes.

I attended the watercolour painting class with Alma, it was a great experience. She was so very warm and patient with me as I have never done this before. I would differently be attending another of her classes. Keep up the great work Alma.

This was a delightful class, Alma was fantastic and created a really welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. 2 hours flew by creating our paintings! We learnt the basics of watercolour which I’d never been taught despite painting plenty in the past and she shared lots of useful advice on various mediums. I’m delighted by the finished result which was mounted to take home and will make a great gift…

Fun and cosy watercolour class. We learned a lot of useful tips and walked out with our first (framed!) watercolour artwork. Alma is un excellent teacher and very entertaining. The time really flew by!

We absolutely loved this watercolour class. Alma was so kind, a brilliant teacher, and we felt a real sense of achievement at the end. Alma’s studio is gorgeous and we were able to relax amongst her art, and Alma even mounted our paintings to take home which was a special surprise. Would very much recommend!

Alma was a wonderful teacher and gave a brilliant introduction to watercolour painting. She went through all the best paints, paper, types of brushes to use as well as brush strokes and water control. I'd done a bit of watercolours before and was blown away with all the tips she gave. She really let us use our imagination and just paint how we wanted to after giving us some structure. Would bring my friends along to another class for sure! My only downside was I had to travel home in the terrible weather and I lived on the other side of London so was long to get to!

Alma is a talented artist and an incredibly generous teacher- probably the most generous I’ve ever met! She wants you to succeed and gives her all to achieve this. I love the balance between demonstration & guidance and creative freedom in her classes, her kind and fun approach and the safe, lovely atmosphere she creates. Please do not miss this!

Alma’s class was amazing, she was knowledgeable and an excellent mentor. We came with self taught skills in watercolor and guided us through various techniques, advising us how to improve and get the most out of our art styles. Overall, learned a lot, the atmosphere was calming and wholesome, Alma was a wonderful teacher and I recommend this experience 11/10

This class was great and have already recommended it to other friends. Myself and 3 other family members went with varying watercolor and artistic experience. Alma put everyone at ease straight away and taught us the basics, letting us have a practice before starting the birds of paradise piece. She is a great teacher and was able to spend time helping us individually to improve our technique but also give hints and tips to the whole group. Very talented artist and teacher. The only downside about the class was it wasn't long enough! Would love to go back and do another class! Thank you Alma for a lovely time!

I had a chance to attend Alma's Birds of Paradise class for a couple of hours. Alma has helped us understand how to start properly with watercolours, she taught us how to choose the right materials, brands, and surfaces. I really enjoyed the floral exercise as well before starting the main piece. This class exceeded my expectations. I'm coming back.

I never painted before but within two hours I have learned how to use a palette knife, perspective and choose complementary colours to make a professional painting. I cannot recommend enough Alma's class; starting from a very cosy environment, good music and drinks. Alma is very patient and approachable. I wish I could upload my finished painting here because seriously, what you'll learn here is good stuff.

I really enjoyed this class and the venue is quite relaxing and cosy. Alma gave us so much positive feedback and encouragement and we learnt lots of amazing techniques. A fantastic evening that I cannot recommend enough.
