'The Art of Mindfulness'

The class was absolutely brilliant. The exercises to get us going were really useful and the teacher was excellent, she kept it simple and fun. The venue was beautiful. I went with my husband and a friend and we are all amazed and delighted by the art work we produced! We were thinking about it for days afterwards.

Georgie's workshop was truly fantastic! It was gifted to me by friends after I'd recently started painting and at a time where I felt a bit stuck creatively. After spending a few hours with her at the farm studio I now feel totally inspired! Her knowledge of using textures was great and has really opened my mind creatively. She's also super friendly and welcoming too. Would totally recommend!

The workshop was beyond my expectations. I loved the theory part on activating physically your creative side. The group were fairly small which allows to get extra attention from the tutor

From start to finish, we had the best day. The studio was based in a great location and found parking easy. We started the day by walking around the farm, where Georgie demonstrated drawing exercises for us to try, which I found so useful. Back at the studio, we learnt new techniques under her guidance. It was fun and exciting getting creative, surrounded by such lovely people. Both my son and I loved every minute and we would definitely recommend to others.

We had the best time with Georgie. As a ‘non artist’ I was a little apprehensive about the abstract painting experience, but I loved it! Georgie is so friendly and approachable and she showed us various techniques and styles and happily answered our (numerous!) questions. She is encouraging, patient and easily put us all at ease so we could paint with confidence. The exercises we did prior to painting were a lot of fun and really thought provoking - they definitely encouraged more creative thinking! The studio is in a really unique farm setting and the food from the café was delicious too! It was a really great day that I would highly recommend everyone to try! We spent a wonderful few hours with Georgie at her studio at Stepney City Farm. As first time artists we had a great experience. Georgie encouraged us, inspired us and allowed us to experiment and explore our artistic style. It was such a lovely time and we would thoroughly recommend joining her. Loved our art-class with Georgie. She is a warm, friendly and inspiring teacher the atmosphere was really relaxed and fun. We took up the option of lunch at the nearby Ethiopian cafe and it was really delicious (high recommend). It was a treat to return to a studio environment & create just for fun. Great fun, loved it

Great time had! Mon was our tutor and friendly, welcoming, fun and knowledgable. Started with some mindful activities after introducing ourselves to each other then looked at different ways to texture the paint. All this helped us to relax and then we started painting. Time flew by then Mon asked us all to look at each other’s canvas and add a few marks. More time to chat with fellow painters. There was no stress or anxiety just do what makes you feel good and enjoy yourself! And if you need assistance just ask. A very enjoyable, stress less, friendly and artistic day.

I went to the class with two friends as a birthday present and we all absolutely loved it! Georgie is an amazing teacher, she taught us loads of fun techniques and was incredibly helpful and very welcoming. Even though I never painted before I had an amazing experience and came away with a painting I am very happy with. The venue is very cute and the animals are adorable, which added to the experience. We all came away more relaxed and very happy, would 100% recommend.

I can't rate it enough. It's a perfect class for those who have never picked up a paintbrush, and plenty of things to make huge messes and beautiful art with. Lovely peaceful setting and Mona, who taught the class was friendly, warm and encouraging. Just go and exercise that right brain!!

I LOVED this short abstract painting course! Georgie was so friendly and encouraging, and the setting of her studio was brilliant - especially as we had a sunny day and therefore had benches set up outside. All in all a lovely wholesome day, highly recommend.

I had an amazing time at Georgie Mason studio’s painting class. As someone with little artistic experience, I was a bit nervous at first, but Mon and the overall atmosphere quickly made me feel comfortable. Mon was truly fantastic, with a contagious passion for art and a talent for explaining techniques in simple ways. I strongly recommend it to both beginners and experienced artists.

The venue was ideal and I particularly enjoyed the pre painting exercises, they were great.

Really enjoyed the class! It was kind of therapeutic in a way… loved the exercises to test our perceptions and our skills, setting of working and walking around a farm was amazing! Learning about textures and multiple ways of creating textures was very helpful. And it kind of pushes your limits where you can go with your flow instead of doing a structured piece of work.

I had a great session with Georgie. I felt the class was really nicely designed and it was really relaxing throughout. We were taught quite a few techniques and were given the freedom to explore on our own at the same time.

I didn't really know what to expect from the class, and was a bit nervous about painting and getting creative from a standing start. Georgie did a really great job of making us all feel comfortable and removing creative blocks with a great variety of warm up activities. Georgie’s abstract art class at Stepney city farm was a thoughtful birthday gift from my son. Georgie is an amazing artist, a great teacher and a very lovely person. Many of us were total beginners and she put us all at ease right from the start. The class was such fun, so inspiring and experimental and we all went home with a painting! Georgie is the most inspirational and patient of any tutor for which I have been a student. Clearly the encouragement and clarity of direction make the experience a truly lasting pleasure. Everything so perfect from the start to finish. Georgie made us feel so confortable and confident.

The whole day was very enjoyable. The venue is bright and warm and well equipped. The class of about 12 people gave plenty of opportunity to ask questions and receive personal attention. Georgie is very informative and helpful and creates a relaxing atmosphere in which to learn. The class was a mix of ages and abilities. I was a complete beginner but never felt overawed and left with two abstract paintings. An added bonus was the option for lunch at the Ethiopian cafe next door which was excellent and an opportunity to get to know the other class members.

Really enjoyed the session - at first thought that the amount of painting time wouldn't be enough but actually the time pressure made you just go for it instead of overthinking (something I do a lot when painting by myself...) This has been my second time returning to Georgie’s class and it definitely won’t be the last! Every time I discover something new in myself and in the painting, the people you meet at the class are always lovely so don’t worry about showing up alone because you’ll make friends. I thought Georgie's class was so fun and really enjoyed how it got me out of my normal thinking and into some creative flow. Me and my mom had a fantastic time at Georgie's art class. We both learnt some new warm up techniques and some creative ways of adding texture to my art which has given me loads of great ideas. Georgie is a fantastic tutor, would recommend & definitely come back again!

I was pretty apprehensive about going to Georgie's class - mainly because I am totally useless at art and I was unsure of what to expect. However, I was taken aback to how thoughtfully the day was put together. For someone who tends to bottle things up, it gave me a chance to try and express myself in a new way. Now, it's unlikely I'll be the next Anselm Kiefer but I thoroughly enjoyed the experience of letting go, even if it was only for a few hours. So thanks Georgie!

It was a small group with varying levels of painting background and as someone who isn’t comfortable in creative settings it was very liberating and encouraging so feel the guidance and the encouragement during the class. Such a brilliant class! The setting is ideal, arriving at the farm you feel like you’ve left the city completely. Georgie was amazing, she led us through some great exercises as we walked around the farm to help us find inspiration and get creative. We then went to the studio and began painting. Everyone was at different levels and Georgie was great at creating an atmosphere where we could all express ourselves however we wanted. She showed us various techniques and answered the many questions we had. Couldn’t recommend the class enough, you’ll leave feeling relaxed and inspired :)

Georgies class was like a breath of fresh air! An opportunity to stop the clock and be creative. Walking around and gathering any materials you might want to use and getting inspired was such a great way to start the session. I hadn’t picked up a paint brush for years - no matter what experience you had or didn’t have Georgie created a warm and non judgemental space and we had a lot of fun! Georgie is wonderful and creates a beautiful, safe space - I'm not much of an artist and was anxious about feeling crap or needing to create something 'good', but the environment was one that really encouraged exploration, and one in which you felt capable to go on your own journey regardless of skill or experience. I learned lots of new techniques which I have taken forward into my private practices, felt generally inspired, and am very happy with what I created! I would highly recommend this course to anyone who is trying to get into painting, refine their skills or learn some new techniques, or anyone who just wants to escape for a few hours and paint without feeling judged. A lovely experience and something I will probably do again :)

I booked this workshop as a gift for my mum, and she said: "It was great fun! I thoroughly enjoyed it start to finish." Georgie had lots of materials to play around with, and encouraged all of us to get creative. This is my 2nd time at this class, Georgie is absolutely amazing and inspiring, it is such great fun and certainly helps getting your creativity on, if like me you work in the corporate world it is sometimes hard to switch off and get creative. Highly recommend!

This was a wonderfully relaxing and fun experience. Set in a lovely little tranquil haven away from the busy urban surroundings. It was really great to learn some techniques in acrylic painting and how to incorporate a variety of materials to create some really interesting textures. Georgie is really great at making you feel at ease and very helpful with suggestions if you need some guidance. I would highly recommend this class, regardless of your level of ability in painting.

I attended Georgie farm and paint class with a friend, the theme was 'rest' and I certainly felt a sense of calm by the end of the class - Georgie was great, very helpful and inspiring we were all amazed by what we created in the class, everyone's work was so different and unique. Was a wonderful way to spend the evening.

Georgie was a lovely artist to meet - so interesting to learn about her techniques and approaches. The materials were plentiful and the space/surrounding was very relaxing and enjoyable. I was really pleased with my output and very much valued Georgie's advice along the way. Looking forward to booking in again soon. I highly recommend this for anyone looking to learn some painting techniques, broaden their painting style or just have a lovely time out doing something super creative.

Booked this for my wife and I as a Christmas present. We both absolutely loved it - would highly recommend. Georgie was excellent and got us all in the right frame of mind to be extra creative and seek inspiration from everything around us! Learnt a few new tricks as well. I thoroughly recommend spending a few hours with Georgie and her beautiful creations in her studio @ Stepney Farm. My father and I had a wonderful time learning new techniques, improvising with colour and texture and simply having fun. Georgie is a fantastic artist, teacher and host and we will definitely do it again x

Really enjoyed out Abstract art experience with Georgie. As this was my first time, didn’t know what to expect. Just having a go and trying the different techniques shown by Georgie, I had the most fun time and came away with an unexpected amazing piece of art.

A very enjoyable experience and great fun. You don't need any experience of painting, the group is small and Georgie is on hand to help and offer advice. You can go along with your own ideas or be inspired by Georgie's demos and work. It's a great way to spend a few hours, I would highly recommend it.

I really enjoyed the workshop on abstract art. I didn’t feel confident at all at the start, but Georgie really helped us all to feel that we were all capable of painting. She showed us various techniques and let us use different materials and tools to let our creativity run wild! She was on hand for advice when needed and she kept us going with lots of tea! It was a really positive experience and being on the farm with delicious food for lunch was an added bonus! Thanks Georgie and hope to see you again for another class!

This was given to me as a present and I was a little nervous as I never thought of myself as creative. However, to my surprise, I really enjoyed the session, was unexpectedly pleased with my creation and intend to carry on painting. I recommend this very rewarding experience. Class was extremely fun! Lots of good chat and painting. Georgie explained different textures and allowed us to explore whatever we wanted to do, while helping us whenever we didn't know how to proceed. Hadn't had such a fun experience in a very long time. I definitely recommend it!

An inspiring mindful day spent in Georgie’s studio. She has an intuitive and playful approach, and after a quick meditation and poetry reading we got the paints out and went for it! Everyone was encouraged to explore in their own way, as well as Georgie showing techniques and materials. Really great if you’re having a creative block, or if you want to free up or if you just want the childish joy of creating without fear! I booked some more sessions with Georgie, best self-care I’ve experienced so far!

Georgie's painting class is a must. Georgie created a really relaxed and welcoming environment. She has a really authentic teaching style, and gets as involved as you want her to, or leaves you to experimen. There were some nice little poetry reading interludes too! It was a wonderful way to spend a Saturday, in the perfect setting. Thank you Georgie! xx

This is one of the best days out I have had in London and would recommend to anyone of all ages and experiences with painting. You can turn up with an idea in your head of what you want to paint or you can just go with the flow when you arrive and “intuitively paint” which is what the class is all about. Georgie is a great teacher and will guide you as much as you want. She has an infectious energy and you will laugh a lot! Will be returning - also the food at the farm is exceptional so don’t bring lunch with you!

My first time painting on canvas and it was a great experience thanks to Georgie - I really enjoyed her relaxed and comforting way of guiding the class. Also the venue could have not been more perfect! I am now considering taking art classes as a way to relax from my day to day technical job ;)

Would recommend - both for beginners (like me!) and those with more experience. And the location at the City Farm is sweet - do make time to go to the Allotment Kitchen!

My Saturday spent painting at Georgie’s studio couldn’t have been a more happy and enjoyable experience. It was such a calming release during a very crazy time! Georgie has a informative yet very relaxed approach to teaching. she was very good at helping you find your feet, and then giving you confidence to carry on solo. I honestly wished I could have stayed there and painting all weekend.

I have had the pleasure of attending Georgie’s farm studio twice. Loved the experience both times and would highly recommend the experience. It feels like you are far away from the City of London and there’s a quaint farmers market on Saturdays as well!

The venue is really lovely in the Stepney City Farm. The studio is very bright and filled with art and there is a farmer's market every Saturday. The farm also has a terrific on-site cafe with a very healthy menu and great food. Georgie is just super and an accomplished artist who clearly loves the artistic process and inspires the students to try new things. I had some fine art training many years ago so I wanted a studio where I could go and get some inspiration and guidance in picking up painting again. Georgie has been really helpful in getting me started again and I've gone multiple times to work on different pieces. I've had a chance to see her work with different groups of students on Saturdays and everyone has a great time with the painting and meeting new folks. I have nothing but good things to about the class and Georgie's instruction.

Great class, lot of fun and very relaxed. Not done any kind of art since school, over 15yrs ago, but loved every second of it. Georgie is so nice and the studio being on a city farm is the cherry on top.

A very instructive session helped me with a project I have not previously undertaken. This was to create a promotional art deco style Welsh Corgi poster by tracing from original jpeg images. Georgie suggested methods that I had not thought of by using marker pens. Now that I've got the hang of it, I'm getting new ideas all the time!! So, thank you Georgie for your Director Skills!

Georgie was very professional and encouraging. We were able to try a lot of different textures and techniques which I think were really fun. I was a bit shy about painting in the first place (I was offered this class by my partner) but I was glad to experience other techniques and had tons of fun in this class. It is very relaxed and the farm around the studio and Georgie's kindness makes it a charming and lovely experience. I recommend for any person who wishes to try or come back to painting.

Lovely afternoon painting with Georgie - it was a fun & relaxed session, Georgie strikes a great balance between help & advice and allowing you freedom to do your own thing. The tea was free flowing, the donkeys were heehawing in the background on the farm outside, and I think we all left with paintings we liked and thoroughly enjoyed making. Having not even picked up a paintbrush since school Georgie was really patient, incredibly helpful and clearly knows her stuff. The class was genuinely great fun, very relaxed and there was even time for a tour of the farm. Would highly recommend and will be back!

Great activity for a Saturday, I really enjoyed myself! Georgie is super helpful with showing you different painting techniques while letting you do your thing and be creative. Lots of different colours and canvasses to choose from. The venue (Stepney City Farm) is also really nice and has lots of animals, plants and a farmer's market.

I loved my painting session with Georgie. She is warm, friendly, helpful and inspiring. The studio itself is in a lovely setting overlooking the farm with pigs, goats and hens. There is a farmers market too with lots of tasty offerings. I have attended two of Georgie's Saturday classes. I'm new to painting and it was the perfect introductory class for me. The studio is easy to find in in a city farm with a lovely food market just outside the door. Georgie is friendly, interesting and easy to talk to. I enjoyed the conversation as much as the art! She lets you do your own thing and encourages you to find your own style but she is also very happy to share her own expertise and knowledge if you have any questions, need some inspiration or are feeling a bit stuck with a piece! I have just collected the painting I had framed after my fantastic sessions at 'Georgie's Saturdays'. I hadn't painted for years and this offered me the perfect solution to get back into it! Georgie is so inspiring, kind and patient and her enthusiasm is infectious. She gave me the confidence to just have a go and it's perfect being able to just turn up to a space set up for painting as it's hard to put space aside for that at home. Can't recommend it highly enough - a real therapy.
