In this portraiture class, we will cover subjects, environment, composition and expression. We will work from photography and life using each other as models. The class allows you to learn about the anatomy of the head, face, neck and shoulders and how this relates to the structure and appearance of a person!
We will work on paper and canvas, creating some truly original portraits. Using pastels we will learn about blending colours to acheive tone and shadow. You will learn about the positions of the prominent features and how to measure proportion using gridding. We will look at examples of portraiture in art history with a focus on realism and impressionism. Throughout the class you will be guided on how best to use materials and how to achieve the best likeness.
We ensure quality. If your class doesn't reach your expectations, we'll give your money back.
