In this class, you will learn about different artists who have painted the human figure. This includes (but of course is not limited to!) Michelangelo and Klimt. You will have live demonstrations on how to draw the figure in different poses. You will gain experience in how to use different artistic materials while understanding their properties and potential. With my help, you will take home some of your very own beautiful artwork. I'll show you examples of my own figure drawings and paintings. Things to remember

Please wear clothes and shoes that you don't mind getting paint on. Bring an apron if you have one, and a bottle of water!

Sophie is a very talented artist and a great teacher. I gave her class as a gift to my boyfriend and it was a really fun day out for both of us- the studios are in a great spot with a climbing wall next door and the cable car to take you across the river. Sophie is an artist, primarily a painter she also works with ceramics, drawing, printmaking and digital media. She is a colourist with a keen interest in expressing herself and her experiences through bold colour and striking mark making. All of which can be seen in her abstract and figurative pieces, which often contain a deep emotional and imaginative content.

Sophie enjoys exploring daring contrasts in her work both aesthetically and psychologically. Sophie has always done people’s portraits and takes commissions and is happy working both from life and photography.
