We are getting back to what we love the most at Make Mee Studio.  Saving your clothes from the back of the wardrobe or even worse... the bin!

Our monthly mending sessions will give you 2 hours of help and guidance on how to mend your clothes or textiles items.

Our team of expert sewing facilitators will teach you how patch your holes, hem your trousers, darn your socks, hide a stain. Whatever you bring us, we love a challenge!*

Very often there will be more than one way to fix something. We can talk about your options and offer visible and invisible mending advice where possible.  We will then start you on your mending journey.

Monthly Make Mee & Mend 

This class is to learn new skills for life.  In this class you will learn how to darn holes in clothes loved by moths, caught on something and ripped or a pocket used over and over.  How to re-sew a dropped hem and hand sewing a patch that will stay in place for years to come.  Plus, any specific hand sewing stitches you would like to learn; I just ask to be informed beforehand to ensure I can touch up my own skills if needed.

This class is for all ages, abilities and can be booked as a 1 to 1 class or as a group class.  You will be in safe hands learning from myself (Claire) The Ethical Tailor with 3 years of teaching behind me in sewing skills.  These classes also give back when brought, giving to a project helping people with learning difficulties gain cooking skills in the UK.  This class will only happen on the dates and times shown.

Learn to Repair Garments by Hand

This is a great beginner class for those of you who are fairly new to using a sewing machine and interested in transforming a garment...oh and that's what you get to take home too!!

In this class

The class has been developed for those fairly new to using a sewing machine and hand sewing techniques and is a good foundation class. In the morning you will learn a series of techniques for common garment alterations, care and repair. In the afternoon apply the skills to items of your own clothing. The safternoon session will be completely tailored to your items and what you'd like to do to them!

In the class you will learn through practical exercises and tips and tricks. This class is packed full of information, from using a seam ripper to how to fit a hem and replace a broken zip, giving you the basic practical understanding of how to tackle simple sewing alterations, repairs and 'upcycling'. You will experience hands on skills and get inspired by lots of examples of garments that Barley has pre repaired or upcycled before the class.
