This 3-hour welding class in London will teach you the basic skills of mig and arc welding.

This class will absolutely fly by but the knowledge you learn will stay with you forever. You get a chance to get extremely hands-on, with scrap metal so there is no need to be precious and under the supervision and guidance of a professional.

The basics of mig and arc welding are essential skills for if you want to carry on metal work. The skills of metal welding can be used in all sorts of art and used on different types of materials. It's an essential skill for any avid sculpture artists, although it can be dangerous. It is always best to learn these things with the help of a professional. You are not only taught the skill, but the essential safety information which you will practice all throughout your welding career.

Taught in the amazing London Sculpture Workshop on the banks of the river Thames, these classes fill up incredibly fast, so book in advance to avoid any dissapointment.

Introductory Welding Class for Artists

In this workshop you'll learn to print with metallic foils, using simple techniques that you can easily repeat at home.
Two options are available: you can work either on fabric or on paper.

All materials are included but if you choose to work on fabric, you may want to bring your own items to be upcycled: foiling works well on clothing such as jeans and t-shirts, cotton bags, cushion covers, napkins. Flat, non-stretchy fabrics with as little texture as possible work best. Foiled fabrics are washable, long-lasting and very easy to hand-make at home. It's also a stunning way to embellish your sewing and embroidery work.

If you prefer to work on paper you’ll have the option of combinign foils with collage or pen work, and create your own  ready-to-frame pictures, greeting cards and/or reference samples showing the different application methods.

You will be able to experiment with gold, silver, copper and coloured foils, and Gabriela will show how to use these creatively through stencilling, stamping and painting. As well as guiding you through the technical process, she will help you design compositions that work.

This craft workshop is ideal for beginners and the more experienced crafter or artist who wants to add a new technique to their repertoire. Everything taught can be repeated at home so get ready to be inspired!

Learn to print on paper or fabric with Metallic Foils

In this two and a half hour session you will be guided through the process to design and make your own pieces of original jewellery using gorgeously tactile  metallic leather.   You will receive plenty of hands on help and inspiration to produce a combination of brooches, pendants and rings.

This is a relaxed session of making suitable for both beginners and advanced creative people, where Anna will share some of the fun techniques that she uses to create her own work.

Metallic Printing on Fabric

Learn how to make a fabulous clutch bag (with a metal frame) to show off to all your friends! You don't need to be a pro for this class at all, but ideally you have enough sewing experience to sew a straight line on a sewing machine.

In this class

Everyone has a clutch somewhere. It's a timeless classic! But not everyone has made one themselves. Now that is a story to tell!

What you will learn:
how to sew a clutch
how to attach a snap frame
how to be the most stylish and coolest fashionista in your friend group (true story!)

On top if it all, there is no need to bring anything yourself. We will provide you with:
a metal snap frame and interfacing
recyclable fabric (e.g. vintage sheets, old shirts, etc)
any other sewing related material needed

Just bring your fabulous self and we will bring the materials (and some fellow clutch lovers!).

By the way:
If you want to recycle your own materials for your clutch, don't forget to bring them!
