I spent a great afternoon with Matt in Richmond Park learning how to properly use my camera to film wildlife. I found it extremely informative and enjoyable. An unexpectedly pleasurable and good evening - I was not sure what to expect and what I would learn. Knowing many of the settings and tricks on my camera but I was pleased to say I learnt a few more especially on how to take birds in flight and the use of light at the end of the day.

Enjoyed a very insightful and enjoyable evening on the Wildlife Photography workshop in Richmond Park. Matthew was very friendly and approachable, making sure that everyone was engaged.
Although I did have prior experience and understanding of the basics of photography using a DSLR I did benefit from techniques for composing and settings for getting better images. Matthew also used his local knowledge of the park and wildlife to spot animals and birds which I'd likely miss, like the small owls.

Really enjoyed Matt's Wildlife Photography in Richmond Park. Matt is very patient and informative, pointing out really useful composition tips and camera features to improve technique when photographing wildlife. A lovely relaxed and sociable evening. Would recommend.

I found the course very helpful as a novice. Matthew went a pace that enabled me to take in his instructions and put them into practice. He was also very willing to help any of us with using our equipment. Highly recommend it. Can’t blame him for the weather!

Matthew has an excellent way of passing on help and wisdom from his depth of knowledge and experience, whilst also being very practical, friendly and making ud feel at ease.
Matthew also a great knowledge of the area and its wildlife which allowed him to be flexible. This was very necessary given the rain, as well as the clouds that sadly eliminated any chance of sunset shots.
A very enjoyable workshop amd I would recommend it!

I went to Matthew's wildlife photography workshop in Richmond Park a few weeks ago and I can honestly say that it was the best course I've been on in terms of how much I learned about how to get the most out of my camera. The course content was comprehensive and well thought through and Matthew had time and expertise to help all of us with our individual questions.

I enjoyed an informative workshop with Matt in Richmond Park, learning how to set up and use my camera to take wildlife pictures.
It refreshed and put into practice quite a few areas of photography I had touched on in an introduction to photography course I had taken a couple of years ago, which was very welcome, leaving me more confident to use more of the features of my DSLR camera.
I took some pictures which exceeded my expectations of my photography skills with Matt’s guidance, which I’m very pleased with.

I spent a great afternoon in Richmond Park photographing wildlife on this workshop. Matthew is a relaxed and friendly tutor. The small group size of 6 meant there was plenty of time to ask questions. I learnt a lot about photographing in different conditions and the specific camera settings needed for animals and birds.

Very attentive and knowledgeable in his field.
He never tells you how you MUST shoot, but advises how he would shoot the shot and explains competently how you can adjust that to your own personal style.
Teaches in a way that is suitable for all learning types and never makes you feel silly For asking a question and ensures he shares the relevant knowledge with the whole group of the questions that might help us all which is refreshing!
Brings his Camera to demonstrate how settings work with Visual representation on the back of his Camera via the exposure preview option he has.
I would 100% recomend Matthew to anyone wanting to learn more in photography and I fully intend on booking onto his other course!

I have recently attended both the London St Paul's and Tower Bridge early evening class and the Richmond Park wildlife and sunset session. Both were excellent, the classes were relatively small and Matthew managed to get around everybody and made sure we understood the points he was making. It would be fair to say that the class was mixed ability but this did not detract from the session. Regardless of what level you are at Matthew gave everybody something to work on. I would happily recommend Matthews classes to other photographers.

Matt provided first cla ss guidance on a misty afternoon/evening as we walked around Richmond PArk. The deer obliged by standing and sitting as a herd. The Richmond Park session was my second outing with Matt and I’ve recommended him verbally to everyone who will listen.
He’s patient in teaching you techniques and will likely show you things you didn’t know your camera was capable of. His knowledge of Richmond Park, and the behaviour of the deer, allowed me to get all the shots my skills allowed…and the same was true on Skomer Island, which was my first trip out with him.
If you’re in any doubt about buying into one of his photo tours, don’t hesitate - you will not regret it.

Really enjoyed the evening and learnt really useful skills that I was later able to use to get the images I wanted, especially around focus and framing. Matthew has clearly put a lot of effort into learning about a variety of cameras to make sure he can help people with theirs, especially as the menus can be pretty confusing. Matthew is also really helpful, approachable and easy to talk to. It was easy to socially distance as appropriate, with a few glances at the camera to help guide the session. Oh, and of course I ended up with some good photos to top it all off.

Matthew was a fantastic teacher with great knowledge and experience in photography. His technical instructions were very clear and easy to understand and he gave brilliant suggestions about composition as well as tips and tricks.
Richmond Park was absolutely beautiful, stunning landscape with lots of deer as well as swans and birds.
Got some great photos and learned a lot!
