I learnt a lot about my camera within the 3hrs of the workshop. I was also happy with some of my first ever photos taken in AV mode. It was also nice to be among others who like photography. The workshop I attended had people at different levels and Matthew catered for all. I would attend again.

I spent a great afternoon in Richmond Park photographing wildlife on this workshop. Matthew is a relaxed and friendly tutor. The small group size of 6 meant there was plenty of time to ask questions. I learnt a lot about photographing in different conditions and the specific camera settings needed for animals and birds.

Outstanding!
Very attentive and knowledgeable in his field.
He never tells you how you MUST shoot, but advises how he would shoot the shot and explains competently how you can adjust that to your own personal style.
Teaches in a way that is suitable for all learning types and never makes you feel silly For asking a question and ensures he shares the relevant knowledge with the whole group of the questions that might help us all which is refreshing!
Brings his Camera to demonstrate how settings work with Visual representation on the back of his Camera via the exposure preview option he has.
I would 100% recomend Matthew to anyone wanting to learn more in photography and I fully intend on booking onto his other course!

Fantastic evening in Richmond Park. Matthew took the time to help me - a complete novice with both camera and subject. I felt included and helped even though there were some very experienced photographers present. A very friendly atmosphere and a great introduction to wild life photography. I learnt a lot in a short space of time.

I have recently attended both the London St Paul's and Tower Bridge early evening class and the Richmond Park wildlife and sunset session. Both were excellent, the classes were relatively small and Matthew managed to get around everybody and made sure we understood the points he was making. It would be fair to say that the class was mixed ability but this did not detract from the session. Regardless of what level you are at Matthew gave everybody something to work on. I would happily recommend Matthews classes to other photographers.

Matt provided first cla ss guidance on a misty afternoon/evening as we walked around Richmond PArk. The deer obliged by standing and sitting as a herd. Matt's good humoured, easy-going approach made the afternoon all the better. He went through the camera settings as necessary, and provided guidance on getting the best shots. His own enthusiasm inspired us all. And I'm very pleased with the images I took. Highly recommended!

The Richmond Park session was my second outing with Matt and I’ve recommended him verbally to everyone who will listen.
He’s patient in teaching you techniques and will likely show you things you didn’t know your camera was capable of. His knowledge of Richmond Park, and the behaviour of the deer, allowed me to get all the shots my skills allowed…and the same was true on Skomer Island, which was my first trip out with him.
If you’re in any doubt about buying into one of his photo tours, don’t hesitate - you will not regret it.

Very enjoyable tour of Richmond Park together with useful tips for all levels of photographer. Matt was friendly approachable and knowledgable, familiar with all the camera systems we had between us. The tour/class was a bit pricey but good quality.

A really interesting, helpful and enjoyable class at Richmond Park. There was a broad range of abilities in the group, each with different cameras and lenses (particularly focal lengths), but Matt supported everyone well to ensure everyone was learning and improving

Really enjoyed the evening and learnt really useful skills that I was later able to use to get the images I wanted, especially around focus and framing. Matthew has clearly put a lot of effort into learning about a variety of cameras to make sure he can help people with theirs, especially as the menus can be pretty confusing. Matthew is also really helpful, approachable and easy to talk to. It was easy to socially distance as appropriate, with a few glances at the camera to help guide the session. Oh, and of course I ended up with some good photos to top it all off.

This was a great experience.
Matthew was a fantastic teacher with great knowledge and experience in photography. His technical instructions were very clear and easy to understand and he gave brilliant suggestions about composition as well as tips and tricks.
Richmond Park was absolutely beautiful, stunning landscape with lots of deer as well as swans and birds.
Got some great photos and learned a lot!
