What happens in this class?

When first learning how to use our cameras we often worry too much about the technicalities of the equipment itself and forget about the most important aspect of photography: the photographer!

In a relaxed setting you'll learn how to train your eyes to see the world as a photographer as well as learning some of the key compositional rules of photography, such as the rule of thirds and leading lines. You'll learn how to break them too!

You'll be able to go at your own pace and ask as many questions as you like. Lou has experience…

Lou tailored the class specifically for me, focusing on using an iphone, and taking pictures of food, so the class was incredibly practical. Lou went through composition techniques with me, and was very pleasant and helpful throughout, as I have never attended a photography class before. Highly recommend

I took in heaps of quality knowledge from Lou over my 3 session mini course and I'm elated that I went for the 1-on-1 teaching style. I went from being a total beginner to fully understanding the in and outs of my '00s DSLR in only a few weeks. It wouldn't have happened without Lou's encouragement and guidance and I'm so grateful to have had this experience.

I have had a camera for nearly 4 years that I didn't use because I found it confusing and overwhelming to navigate. I finally decided it was time to ask for help, and booked in a session with Lou. She was so lovely and accommodating in organising the time and place (I am heavily pregnant!) Her teaching style is very clear and well thought out, combining both didactic and experiential elements, so you come away both understanding the 'how and why' of a function, as well as how to execute it in different scenarios. I am so glad I contacted her, as I now feel I have the confidence to make use of my camera and to start experimenting with taking some proper photos! I would highly recommend her, and hope I can find time for another lesson in the future to expand my skills.
