2.5 hour workshop
Do you want to take your digital camera out of automatic mode? Then this workshop is for you. You will be taught how to control the functions of the camera so that you can take full creative control of your image making (your camera must have a manual mode which allows you to adjust the Shutter Speed, Aperture & ISO (you can check this online or in the instructions that came with your camera).
SONY nominated photographer, videographer & fashion show producer, Dan Harley ( Dan Harley Photography / Live Fashion Official) will take you through the fundamentals of manually controlling your DSLR using a series of unique analogies he has developed
The workshop will take place at the iconic Old Spitalfields Market in Shoreditch, where, using the market as our learning arena, we will cover Shutter Speed, Aperture, ISO, Focus, Depth of Field, White Balance & Composition
Dan has shot hundreds of shows from some of the biggest Fashion Week runways around the world, both backstage & front of house, where the pressure is on to make the shot for the client & says "It's all about having control of your camera as the principles of image making are the same whether you are shooting Fendi ft Karl Lagerfeld at Milan Fashion Week or taking candid shots at Old Spitalfields Market... & the good news is; it's a lot easier than you think!"
You will be taking lots of photographs on this workshop to demonstrate each aspect mentioned above, and as an additional bonus, everyone who takes the workshop will get the chance to have one of their photographs included in an exhibition staged at Spitalfields Market later in the year.
The images for this class include some of customers on the class, my work and some images that customers have taken on the class

About your host, Dan Harley Photography
Dan Harley is a Sony nominated Photographer & Videographer who has worked predominantly in the areas of Fashion, Backstage, Portrait & Music.
Dan has shot hundreds of shows from some of the biggest Fashion Week runways around the world, both backstage & front of house, where the pressure is on to make the shot for the client.
During this time he also started producing his own Fashion Series called 'Live Fashion Official' which Graduate Fashion Week described earlier this year as "...the world's most exciting Fashion Show"
Dan began adding teaching to his schedule back in 2014 on request from a friend who had taken on too many bookings for her own teaching business & quickly realised the satisfaction he derived from helping his students get to their creative 'A-Haaa' moment.
Dan's teaching goal is always to empower his students to be able to make their own creative adjustments in camera so they can get the shots they want rather than what the camera gives them - He has put together a unique series of simple, real world analogies to simplify the often confusingly taught aspects of photography
The good news is that it's a lot easier than you might think as the principles of image making are the same whether you are shooting Fendi ft Karl Lagerfeld at Milan Fashion Week or taking candid shots at Old Spitalfields Market
Dan is looking forward to helping you get to your own 'A-Haa' moment at the iconic, Old Spitalfields Market
