How can we expect shops or patterns to fit everyone when all our bodies are all so different? With this pattern cutting class you will create a trouser block that fits you and only you and you can use it to make perfectly fitting trousers every time!

What you'll learn

We'll show you how to accurately measure your waist, hips and legs and we will use the measurements to make a trouser pattern block to fit your exact body shape.
You will make your first pattern from it adding seam allowances and markings.

Things to remember

We have everything you need for the workshop including calico but if you would like to bring your own fabric, set square, ruler and/or pattern master you are very welcome to.

WHAT IS THE STRUCTURE OF THE CLASS?

We will start the class by taking each others measurements. Each student will then take their measurements and start work on their own toile. Everyone will be working at their own pace. Once the block is made seam allowance will be added and the toile made.

WILL I HAVE THE PERFECT FITTING TOILE BY THE END OF THE CLASS?

This class is designed to show you how to turn your measurements into a basic block and first toile. Whether it fits perfectly can depends on many aspects. Everybody's shape is unique so it is very common to have to adjust your block and toile multiple toiles until you are completely happy. Some people who are quicker may have time to do some adjustments in the class however you may need to continue tweaking and adjusting your pattern after the class to get the fit perfect.

I love the MakeMeeStudio. I have done two course recently and found them both interesting and helpful. We ran out of time with both course which is why I marked them down and the equipment wasn't in the best condition. If you can I would recommend you bring your own pencil, colour pencils and sharpener. But other than that the course was great fun in a nice environment with really knowledgeable and enthusiastic tutors. Thank you.
