The Adult Thrive Club is exactly as described on the website - hands-on and fun-packed. I always wanted to learn how to use a sewing machine but for some reason I never did although my mum and my granny both could brilliantly sew. Wonderful Astrid gave me a great introduction and was very helpful throughout the session. The upbeat and friendly environment was inspiring from the very first moment, so that I can't wait for my second session to come.

I have never sewed before, but after taking it up in Lockdown, I went on the hunt to find a class that would best suit me; I can say, without a shadow of a doubt, that Astrid's class is hands down the exact thing I was looking for. Astrid is kind, and patient, but knows how to talk to adults without making them feel like children. I have learnt and picked up techniques that I never thought possible! I have now encouraged my wife to come along!

I enjoyed this class very much; very attentive and incredibly knowledgable teacher.

This is a very relaxed class run by a very experienced teacher. I have MCI and am dyslexic, 77 years old, i find a lot of help and understanding of my condition.

Really motivated me to get me back into upcycling my clothes. Astrid is very knowledgeable and creative and it really helps being with a creative group of people with a variety of ideas and talents. Thank you Astrid for taking away my fear of using a sewing machine and getting back into loving sewing.

Relaxed and friendly atmosphere, and fantastic expert guidance on just about anything you decide to bring in :)
Diana - 11 January 2023
Really enjoyed my classes at Little Hand Design, partially for upping skills, partially for increased awareness of the *excitement* of upcycling and design. Being environmentally friendly doesn’t need to be boring.
Donna - 11 January 2023
Astrid creates a friendly, supportive atmosphere and ensures that each of us - at our different levels and with our different interests - receives the individual instruction needed to bring our projects to fruition. She is very knowledgeable and helpful. She breaks down complex processes into understandable steps. I'm really enjoying the course.
Henrietta - 11 January 2023
It is a perfect class for adults who want to sew and learn an important skill. Beginners and the more experienced learn and work together. There is no pressure and the atmosphere is friendly and supportive.
