Classes
Ten session course
By the end of the ten weeks, you will have developed a solid base of woodcarving skills. We will explore in detail different areas and styles of woodcarving, which will lead to you creating one or more finished carvings. Several other topics will also be covered in the course. This includes (but certainly isn't limited to): tool sharpening, the safe handling of tools and other equipment, planning new projects (including making maquettes), suitable timbers for carving and where to buy good quality tools and timber.
Obby Guarantee
We ensure quality. If your class doesn't reach your expectations, we'll give your money back.

About your host, The Hall of Bright Carvings
Roli Ross was born on the Holloway Road on the middle day of spring, the second son of a second son.
After a short carpentry and joinery course he went on to take a furniture craft course. On both courses he was more interested in carving detail into the pieces he created rather than the construction of them. This led him on to the City and Guilds of London Art School's 3 year Diploma in Ornamental and Historical Woodcarving. Since 2005 he has taught woodcarving at adult education colleges and from his studio in Greenwich and has been accepting commissions for individuals and churches. He is now putting together 'Roliometries' (a series of woodcarvings inspired by natural forms and geometry).
