What happens in this class?

Join designer/makers Adamina Turek and Adrian Austin to learn how to carve a wooden spoon. You will learn which tools to use and how to handle the knives in a safe and effective way. Then choose from a variety of seasoned wood blanks (a pre-prepared piece of wood) in English Ash, English Apple, Polish Cherry to transform into a spoon to take home! All tools and materials are supplied. Adamina and Adrian can advise you on which simple tools to buy to carry on with this beautiful craft.

Really helpful instructors, great class, and delicious cookies at the end!

We really enjoyed this class. Adamina and Adrian demonstrated the techniques really clearly and were always on hand to correct errors or answer questions, meaning that everyone made quick progress and produced something they were proud of. I’ve been to classes where the teacher spends half the time talking about themselves and boasting about their expertise, but Adamina and Adrian didn’t talk about themselves at all and didn’t need to. Their work (as displayed on a table in the room) spoke for itself and all they cared about was helping people get the best result they could in the time available. No egos or marketing, just two expert craftsmen/women with a knack for teaching.
