Ten Week Pottery Course

This is a ten week course that covers both throwing on the wheel and hand building. The focus is, however, on wheel work. Things to remember

Wheel Throwing can be messy therefore please wear clothes that are comfortable and you don’t mind getting clay on.

Also, it’s worth bearing in mind that it’s difficult to throw with long nails. Perhaps cutting them for the duration of the course might be helpful?

Great course, really well structured and good overview of different techniques. Small class size meant you could get detailed feedback and help too.
Judy Zhou - 19 February 2024
Great teaching, a lot of hands on with both Tessa and Kwok teaching a small group of 8. I’ve been to many other pottery workshops and by far this is my favourite! Definitely recommends the intensive courses to learn everything about the art.
Tamsyn Parry - 28 October 2023
A wonderful opportunity to learn an art in a relaxed environment with two highly skilled potters. The 10 week course helps to develop all your skills in different styles of potting helped by the fact it’s a small class of six. The most therapeutic way to end a busy week and the most rewarding.

Situated in a very busy and central location, just off Stoke Newington High Street, the studio is a drop of calm in a very fast moving world.

Tessa trained in Fine Art, specialising in sculpture (modelling in clay). On completion of a three year Post Graduate Course at the Royal Academy of Arts, Tessa set up a studio in Hackney. The transition from sculptor to potter came many years later whilst…
