Introduction to Hardback Bookbinding

Many thanks Amber for this workshop. Love the result, the notebook is really nice. And I have left with lots of tips to do more Obote books by myself thanks to your very clear explanations and kind advices.

What a brilliant afternoon! The materials were sent in good time, great quality and look and when something was missed off, they were sent quickly after. The session had a fair few participants but there was space to ask questions and go at your own pace to an extent. Instructions were simple (the booklet really helped) but there was detail on best practice too. We finished to time with a really cool end result and enough materials to make our next one solo! Thanks for a great workshop.

Loved this class. The kit has everything you need for the class and to carry on making these note books. Amber’s instructions were clear and the two and a half hours flew by. I have enjoyed making more books since the class. Definitely recommend

Well planned, well organized and I loved the kit. Even nicer not have to go and hunt for the required tools and know I had the right equipment. Amber kept a perfect pace for me and also helped anyone that was a wee bit behind. Loved the end product. Amber you made it feel so easy. Thank you

Thanks Amber and everyone else who joined today. It was a great class, well paced. Amber is thoughtful tutor who made each step easy to follow. Learnt so many good tips and techniques to take forward for future projects. Brain full of ideas. Time just flew by.

I did this class with my 13 year old son and we both loved it! We were delighted with the books we made and both really enjoyed the process. A perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Super therapeutic.

This was my first online class with obby and I was a little worried it wouldn’t be as good as an in-person class. I needn’t have worried. The kit fitted through the letterbox and arrived a few days before, all neatly packed with beautiful papers and everything I needed for the class. The Zoom class was great, Ambers camera angles and descriptions were very clear, she was warm, friendly and ran to time. I completed my book without any problems, and the 2 1/2 hours absolutely flew by! I enjoyed seeing what the others had made too, and the only way it could have been improved would be to get us to show each other what we made at the end, I really liked seeing glimpses of everyone’s work. I’ve already made a couple more smaller books this evening, and look forward to refining my new skill during lockdown! I’ve wanted to try bookbinding for ages but could never make the classes, so this was perfect. I’d happily do another online class with Amber or an in person one when we’re all allowed out again!
