2.5 hour workshop
All levels welcome
Location varies by date
In this workshop you'll learn all the basic skills you need to create a gorgeous notebook, complete with hard cover, sturdy bookcloth spine and hand-stitched pages. Amber will take you though each stage of creating your book, from the proper ways to cut and fold paper (believe it or not, there is a best way!) to tips and tricks needed for great stitching. She will also teach you about materials, terminology and tools, so that you can fully explore the world of bookbinding should you wish to build on what you've learnt after the class. This notebook is perfect for everyday notes and sketches, and makes a great thoughtful and personal gift!
Amber is a professional illustrator and animator, with a love of all things paper, and sharing her skills!
All materials and tools will be provided, plus light refreshments!
A 'signature' is a bookbinder's name for the sections of folded paper in a book. Our notebook will have just one, but larger books can have many, many more- take a look at the spine of your favourite novel to see!
We ensure quality. If your class doesn't reach your expectations, we'll give your money back.
