What happens in this class?

Course objectives: As the year comes to a close, it is often time to set intentions for the coming New Year. Many of us have a story inside just aching to find its way onto the page, and this can feel like an unrealisable goal.

Here at Mata, we break down the process into realisable goals, giving an outlet for imagination to become a creative writing practice. Returning writers and newcomers all find a supportive and inspiring space to express themselves.

Things to remember

Please bring a notebook and pen. The class is a no laptop environment. Tea and coffee will be provided.

Mata (Formerly Articulate) Provides an environment that invests in teaching people about the wonderful world of creative writing in all its forms. We currently provide a successful women's group, guide to creative writing class, and 1-to-1 sessions.

Ruth V Jarvis is a BA (Hons) author, editor and script consultant. She writes trauma narrative poetry, feminist and historic fiction and non-fiction.
