What you will do
4 hour workshop
Come and join us in the studio and celebrate these talented artists through printmaking.
Sunday 9th February | Picasso Inspired Lino & Collage Workshop
You will be exploring his infamous paintings and drawings through lino and mixed media. Learn the beautiful technique of Lino; from designing, carving and printing your very own inspired Picasso. With an extra element pushing your print further by adding collage.
Sunday 5th April David Hockney Inspired Drypoint Etching & Watercolour Workshop
In this workshop you will learn how to design using mark making techniques and etch into your drypoint plate. You will then move onto learning how to ink your plate up as well as incorporating watercolour with your finished print.
Class sizes are kept small, so you’ll have the opportunity to explore the technique at your own pace. Our teaching is friendly, supportive and directed towards personal development in what you would like to achieve.
Drypoint involves scratching an image into a thin plastic or metal sheet using a range of metal tools. The lines that are made are then filled with ink and transferred onto paper.
Lino is what we in the business call 'relief' printing and works in the opposite way to drypoint. You will work by cutting away everything but the image, then ink the outlying surface, and print onto paper.
What experience do I need? You can be a complete beginner or already have experience. The tutor will take you step by step on all processes.
What will I go home with? You will go home with many variations of prints from 5-10 prints on the size of A5-A4 sizes of paper.
