This workshop run by Sorrel was a great experience - very informative, fun and historical. It was wonderful to hear about the processes and designs used for ceramics hundreds of years ago, and I feel that I learned a lot! Would thoroughly recommend grabbing a ticket.

My mum and I really loved this class. We were welcomed warmly to an attractive, well-equipped space. The venue is at the end of a small industrial estate, and we were initially nervous that it might not feel safe to walk back to the tube in the dark, but the estate is filled with food delivery kitchens, so it was bright and busy with delivery drivers (and full of delicious food smells!) as we left. I would definitely feel completely confident to visit again for future classes. We were given a big slab of prepared clay, lots of inspiration, clear and helpful teaching and support, plentiful tools, and even a big set of 3D-printed stencils of genuine Medieval designs, which makes the creative process much easier! I think Sorrel uses different-coloured clays each time, so if you prefer a specific colour, it might be worth asking in advance. We had terracotta clay and white slip, which was exactly what we wanted. Sorrel can add a glaze to your work before firing if you want it, which makes the final pieces more durable and heat-safe. I'm really looking forward to seeing my work once it's fired!
