Beginners Brush Calligraphy with The Dandelion Art

My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our class with Dandelion Art. She was really personable, supportive and great at de-mystifying the skills needed for calligraphy, which she has in spades! It didn't matter that some of us in the intimately small class were slow on the uptake about the process for this style of calligraphy, because it was generally just such a fun few hours. I loved that we were able to take home the pens to be able to carry out practising too. Loved that evening completely x

Michela is a talented artist, a patient teacher and a lovely person to spend time with. I booked a class as a surprise for my friend’s 40th birthday and it was the perfect gift for a special occasion. We can’t thank Michela enough.

Great session, our host was very informative and patience. The atmosphere was very professional with light snacks and beverages to help relax. By the end of the two hours, we have a solid understanding of the basic of Calligraphy. I would recommend for anyone who want to try their hand on Calligraphy.

Amazing class! We have a brilliant time and really enjoyed being told the science behind caligraphy. Would definitely do this again.

Michela was a great instructor - obviously very passionate about calligraphy and art in general and enthusiastic to teach us the techniques correctly. She put together a lovely evening with some very sweet touches including flowers for my friend's birthday, and was really easy to organize with as she was super flexible to fitting to our schedule. My only constructive point would be that it would be awesome if by the end we could create an entire word in some nice format to take away - eg such as the name cards. It's a tricky balance and I definitely appreciate the need to practice all the strokes to get them right (it was much harder than I expected!!) but would also be super cool to have a tangible item to take away in addition to the alphabet sheet. Michela did spend extra time with us showing us alternative styles of letters which was really cool.. Either way the session has definitely sparked an interest and I'm looking forward to doing some practice at home!!

Absolutely loved it! My technique is significantly better! Could not have asked for a more patient and lovely person to teach my friends and I. definitely recommend! Being in a small group made it so much easier to learn.

I bought the lesson for my sister as a birthday gift . She really enjoyed it , and learnt a lot . Venue was quite informal . Teacher provided food and drink which was a welcome surprise

I enjoyed a lot my first calligraphy lesson! Everything was organized perfectly and the atmosphere was relaxed and creative.

I learned that posture and your position is most important. Michela is super friendly with lots of experience. The venue was prefect less then 5 minute walk from London Bridge Station.

Definitely a great workshop for a beginner. I feel like I learnt the basic techniques and understood the importance of using the appropriate pens. Michela was great - I was genuinely a little anxious at first, but I had needn't worried. The venue was great - loved the music. I enjoyed having my friends all around the table and the general chilled vibe.

Michela was really lovely and informative. She took the time to look one by one the difficulties we were facing and I felt more confident at the end of the class. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to learn or improve!

Teacher was perfect, very smart and beautiful and kind and friendly - she's the best! So impressed with the set up, the food, everything was neat and tidy and ready to go. It made it feel very professional.

Michaela was very welcoming and really kind as she helped me, as a left-hander, get the hang of the positioning in mirror. Loved the nibbles, make sure you don’t eat beforehand though!

I found the class informative and progressed at a comfortable speed. I felt I learned quickly and wasn't rushed. Where I did struggle I was given one on one support. I felt the class was spot on. I wouldn't change a thing!

Fantastic class. It was only me, but there were still nibbles and fizz provided. A lovely atmosphere, a very patient teacher who calmly guided me through the steps of calligraphy - and you get to take away the pens and practice sheets. Highly recommend!

I found the whole class really interesting. There was a much greater focus on technique than I had expected which was great because once I had that down I felt like I made less mistakes than I could have done. Michela was very supportive but quick and clear in pointing out problems with my posture or technique. The setting for the event was brilliant, I loved the attention to detail on the food, the flowers and the setup. I've been practising pretty much every night since and was very happy to receive the pattern for practising as I'd run through all of my paper. I will definitely recommend her to all of my friends!

Nice teacher with great snacks.

I really enjoyed that the class was small and that the instructor came around to all of us and gave us individual help. By the end of the class I felt confident I could continue working on this at home and that I had the basics down!

Our class with Michaela was fantastic! We were all beginners and she made us all feel at ease. The class was very relaxed and she had lots of lovely nibbles and prosecco for us to have during the class. She started off with teaching us techniques firstly and then we moved on to letters throughout the class. Michaela was so friendly and helpful and we had a really lovely evening! Will definitely go along to another one of Michaela’s classes :)

Michela was so well prepared for our group of 5 and put a lot of effort into making sure we had a good experience as well as leaving with a good foundation of brush calligraphy. Being able to take our pens home too is a nice bonus and allows us to keep practicing straight away! Thank you :)

I learnt the basics of calligraphy. Michaela was very friendly and knew what she was doing. The class was in a nice open space and she provided yummy aperitifs.

My experience with Michela has been fantastic; I always wanted to learn something about calligraphy and i can't wait to put my learning into practice! Michela's introduction to calligraphy was just as i expected and more; she has been very attentive and spent time with each one of us singularly making sure we had a perfect understanding of each step before moving on to the next one. I would highly recommend her and I really hope i will be able to attend other classes by her!
