8. Wedding Origami Workshop
Spend an evening in Highgate learning origami for the perfect way to add a personal touch to your special day. All abilities are welcome, and everything you need is included, so just turn up and enjoy! In this class In this workshop, Alice will be sharing her origami wedding creations with you and showing you how you can make them yourself. First you'll learn how to master the basic origami folds and select the perfect paper using only premium types, including Japanese washi origami paper. Once you're happy with the basics Alice will show you some examples of wedding origami and how you can incorporate them into your big day, for example using cranes as name cards and putting kawasaki roses next to table name cards. You will also make origami butterflies, hearts, dahlias, fans and smaller versions of these that you can fix on to your wedding invites, to give them a unique twist! There will be a small break during the class for you to rest your hands and enjoy some Japanese snacks, green tea or Japanese inspired cocktails! Please let us know if you have any particular requests prior to the workshop and Alice will do her best to incorporate these into your class. Now you can use your skills to send out truly unique invitations make amazing origami to decorate your wedding venue blush as your guests tell you just how incredible your origami looks Keep We'll give you all the paper you need to practice and perfect your folding skills during the class, as well as Japanese snacks and cocktails throughout to keep you concentrating!

9. Design & Make a Wedding Ring
Laura has developed a workshop with an emphasis on texture that focuses on the whole process of creating a piece of jewellery; from design through to making the final piece. This cost covers all materials. The day will start with design through exploring textures and lead on onto the hands-on creation of your own uniquely textured wedding band which delves into the process of etching. Technical skills The process of calculating the length of precious metal required in order to make a ring. How to cut using a piercing saw. How to apply a patterned texture to a piece of precious metal using the etching process. How to file, solder, clean and polish your beautiful ring. Materials: The course fee covers the cost of all materials. 9ct yellow gold or 9ct white gold. Please let me know which option you would like 7 working days before the class starts. Luara will provide materials that are recycled and sourced from responsible suppliers based in London’s famous Hatton Garden. The style of ring you will create will be 3mm wide and 1.5mm thick. Workshop Location and Lunch: Workshops are held at Laura’s studio in Deptford, South East London. It is less than a ten minute walk from either Deptford or New Cross Station. A vegetarian lunch and refreshments (including bubbles) will be provided. Please outline any dietary requirements 2 working days before your workshop. How long will it take? This workshop will last 5-6 hours. Hallmarking Once your rings are all polished and finished, I will take them to the historic London Assay Office (it has been open since 1478!) to be hallmarked. This will take 5-7 working days to complete.
